I just bought GalCiv II and it crashes right after selecting the races im going to play against, right before the game actually starts. I can't find the smart exception application or the debug.err file. Can anyone please help? thankya in advanced

So, I took advantage of the 1.99$ sale of GalCiv II, but i dont have the slightest idea on how to play this game. Im not used to 4X strategy games. Anyone got strategies for a newbie like me to start playing and enjoying this game?
