I use my external drive to save my completly dates on it.You can alltimes have the situation where your system f**k you and than you are happy if can make a backup from a external drive... I am allways afraid how much people don't know how much information are in there pictures. With Vista you can see a little bit of them if you go to properties (eigenschaften) and than the tab details or if you have XP you can download a exifviewer-with them you see all the informations where you write about... I use photofiltre portable,with this programm you can select if you want saving your picture with or without the exif(meta)data...

If you don't want buy Object Dock plus and have enough recourcen (RAM) you can also install an other Dock.For free is the RocketDock and if you like a third one you can install the Nexus Dock-it's free too.. I have them all together and it work without problems,my OS is Vista and I have 3GB RAM...
