I'm working on a new OD optimized skin (along the same idea as my Gold-n-Onyx skin). It's sort of a workaround of most of the issues you're taling about.

Using CursorXP uses more CPU than not using it on my machine. It just seems to add a certain 'jerkiness' to some of the apps I use regularly. I'm running a 2 gig Athlon, so I don't think a slow computer is the problem. It's pretty, but not worth the performance hit, imo. I rely on the little pop-up hint thingies a lot (especially when I'm using CAD), and the cursors that are big enough to look really sweet seem to cover them up, for some reason. Cursors that are small enough to not interfer
Hmm...I thought I WAS a WinCustomize Subscriber...? Maybe I'm confusing it with a StarDoock subscription.
KkMenu does that...
I wish the human race would become truly intelligent, instead of just being clever.
How about have the option to specify different window borders for maximized windows, non-maximized windows, and MDI windows? If any of you have seen my Gold-n-Onyx WB skin, you'll notice that I like to do strange things with skins. Sometimes a border that works fine for maximized windows isn't appropriate for non-maximized and MDI windows.
I don't use CursorXP anymore. I've noticed that that CPU usage makes a jump when I move the cursor while using it. Enough that it slows down other programs (such as PowerDVD).
I don't bother with either one.
What is SVG?
With much help from SkinStudio on IRC, here are the proper settings... https://www.wincustomize.com/msgboard.asp?BID=WC&id=214877#214896
Infranview isn't really appropriate. Doesn't matter anyway...with much help from SkinStudio on the IRC channel, I've found out which settings to use with PSP when saving a PNG to make it work properly. File/Preferences/File Format Preferences...PNG tab...uncheck 'Load and save transparency from / to alpha channel When you save your PNG, run the optimizer...under transparency tab, choose 'Alpha channel transparency'. Optimize your palette if you want. It will
I need to be able to create 32-bit TGA or PNG files. PSP8.1 just won't do it. I've got the gimp, but it's too danged cryptic. Better yet...HEY STARDOCK! Make Windowblinds PNG compatible!
Plenty of time to sleep when you're DEAD.
Every time I try to import a PNG into SKS, it converts it into a BMP, not a TGA.
They should eliminate 'RAM' also...that's a *naughty* term! Come to think of it so is port, socket, and any number of other things. *hey* No wonder there is such a plague of porn on these things!
Forget I posted here...I tested my suggestion after I posted it, and it don't work... [Message Edited]
I had Norton Systemworks 2001, and it had the bad habit of trashing my computer to the point of unusability. Don't know if the newer version are any better. Phoon's method is the best, have a 40-60 gig HD for your operating system and so forth, and a nice BIG one for any updates and software you upload (preferably backing them up to CD...just in case). It really doesn't take that long to reformat/reinstall if you do something so heinous that it can't fix. Always assuming you have a fairly
JUST ONCE...I'd like to see something like this get to court...and have both the judge and the jury simply start laughing uncontrollably until they vomit...and then disbar the prosecuting attorney and lock the plaintiff up for psychiatric observation.
Actually, Spbot does just that...it's called 'Immunize'
Spybot - Search and Destroy (spyware killer) AdAware (for the very few things Spybot doesn't catch) Defragment regularly That's all I use, and I don't have any problems I don't cause myself Everything runs nice and smooth.
I need to re-upload my Gold-n-Onyx >White MArble Calendar icon set. Somehow, I've lost them. If anyone has them, could you please email them to me?
For some reason, I am unable to move the icons around. I can still drag them off the dock to make go *poof*, but I can't rearrange them. Went back to RC1.
Beware of the USNO server though. Every time I used it, I would get port scanned by it shortly after.
