Even as Tec or Vasari you can push back the culture from two or three culture centers with just one of your own. Well you cannot push it back, but you are able to keep your allegiance from dropping. Also, the more phase lines you have going away from your planet the less "power" your culture has when trying to push onto another planet, as the culture distributes equally to all outgoing lanes. This means in your case with the 3 culture centers each enemy planet only reci

Let's see. You spam Illuminator vessels, other than Repair bays you only seem to build hangar bays, from the looks of it that lone starbase on that space junk isn't upgraded at all and your empire is overextended all over the place, no holding chokepoints to build up fleet, no choosing planets that are close together and can easily be defended with one smaller fleet. No wonder you lose. I wipe the floor with hard AIs.

The Advent and Vasari supers are more of an offensive support weapon than a defensive one like the Nova. You don't need 3 kostura warheads, you just shoot one and go in with your fleet. Similarly the deliverance should push your culture to the enemy and you go in with your fleet. The Nova just reduces your income, and the loss of your planet can be completely countered by Starbases. If the Deliverance was to destroy media hubs in one shot it would instantly turn the weakest superw

Quote from myself in another thread:
I would suggest that the deliverance hit shuts down culture centers on the planet it impacts, maybe even on the next planet in the system. Maybe not starbases, so Advent kinda have a counter to their own weapon like the TEC have. This would also enable the Advent player to creep his own culture to the enemy planets, supporting them whey they are moving forward.
I don't think it makes much sense

The AI doesn't assign missions to pirates as far as I know. However in a 1on1 you're the only pirate target left so the raids will visit you every 12 or so minutes. The current AI is very broken, only in 1 out of 10 games it builds frigates lategame. The ability is very useful in a game versus actual human opponents as it increases your numbers while you decrease theirs. What do you do with the frigates? You use them as reinforcements, obviously. Expecially stuff like

Yeah, some faction specific achievements don't recognise the new subfactions properly (in my case fleet diversifications only worked for rebels). And eaving my game alone for 10 hours with waves of pirates washing over me didn't give me pirate killer. But I guess I can wait for those til release, still unsure wether they will be reset anyways. What I would find more interesting would be some new achievements. Maybe some purely situational ones, or some achieveme

Buy via steam, they accept more payment methods than just credit card and paypal. Okay, you not having a retail box is a drawback, but till now I didn't have a problem with my digital copies (I was nice to steam so steam was nice to me I guess?).

Yeah he didn't. The first post of mine about this was probably all those superweapon and titan threads welling up inside of me :p. In the followups I just kept going with that. I thought the Kostura only disabled tactical buildings, but damaged all of them. Good to know, with my friends being so Vasari centred I mostly play TEC and Advent. Hope with Rebellion I get to play Vasari, too :). (Also whenever I see your Avatar I gett he feeling I'm being yelled at, that'

Yes I know, that's why I corrected myself. In your figure you'd need those four Novas first. Again, with the amount of money spent for this you could have gone conquering enemy planets as well. I know, the Kostura can shorten trade routes in sufficient numbrs by killing the structures on your planet. But again you need at least 3 of them. TEC Loyalists can get them cheaper. I wouldn't mind adding them into the rocket research chain again (but branch out at tier 6)

About my last post: Lol, forgot how sins calculates negative influences. Of course it takes away 12.5% of your trade income in my example. The "100%" debuff on the income means it cuts the trading income in half of course. Doesn't change anything about the point, though.

It takes away the trade income of one planet. If you have four planets that is 25% of your (edit: trade) income, given you have the same amount of trade income on every planet. With every planet or neutral well with a tradeport starbase upgrade this effect becomes smaller. I added the fact that it doesn't shorten your trade route just to make sure noone makes wrong assumptions. I said that superweapons were not changed since diplomacy I meant they were not changed between

Sounds a lot like it worked in Earth 2150. You build an armory structure and a set of helis and they automatically restock your units on the battlefield (they even restocked superweapons, god those buggers were expensive). It worked well on a small scale, but methinks the scale in sins is too big for this. Not to mention the AI responsible for autocasting my abilites is messing up enough shit as is (like not repairing the only ship in the whole gravitywell that is under

It doesn't cut your trade income in half, it doesn't even shorten your trade route. For the Nova to have any value as eco hamper you have to invest into at least three or four of them, the same money would grant you a large fleet capable of actually taking away planets from the enemy. Ever since Rebellion beta started people keep getting spasms over "how powerful" titans/superweapons are. They are not. A Titan is taken out by medium to large sized midgame technology fleet. I p

Making a ship bigger and better armored than your "normal" ships and putting more weapons on them does not neccesarily mean they are more technologically advanced. If we were to research technologies by canon starbases were tier 9 and diplomats tier 10. Yay for consistent research.

It only seems overpowered, according to other players testing it the rates before the patch were increased by such a small margin using those researches that they probably figured a bigger number would make the research more useful in earlygame and the Advent (Rebels was it?) stand apart more in their researches.

What the fuck... First off, don't people learn proper english in school anymore? Then about the topic: So you were stomped by a player that had almost no fleet? Go for starbases, get enduring devotion/auxiliary government on three or four planets, set up a fleet of carriers (50 fighters, 70 to 100 bombers), a few capships to go with that and go steamroll them. Seriously now, if I can do that everybody else can.

4 Replies 3,852 Views

Who in the name of has ony one fleet? Even if my main fleet is out there bashing enemy ships I always keeps a few smaller fleets with defensieve capships around to guard my planets. And if an enemy cannot be held back by starbases plus tactical structures plus defensive fleet, well you'll have to freaking move all your fleet there ASAP to stop it. If you take down his fleet he'll be supectible to attacks, you might even be able to get more than just your planets back.
