I saw an earlier post and liked the idea of capturing heroes. This mechanic could work two ways: a) Surrender: A surrender mechanic before a battle were a champion might be outnumbered/outgunned, and surrenders to the opposing forces. This could allow a further game mechanic, were you have the option to ransom back captured heirs (ala Game of Thrones...Jamie anyone?) and heroes. This could ALSO lead to other interesting mechanics, such as an opti

Although im working through 2B, it is somewhat unplayable due to CTD, as well as no being able to build on shards. Some ideas for spells (high level?) Imbue Self: Lose chunk of essence to double physical stats, increase size of soverign 1.5 times-2 times. (ie use up magic to make yourself uber powerful in combat Blood to Power: Lose constitution/strength to gain essence Dark Ritual: Sacrifi

Alright, before I get flamed, I've been assuming so far that all the backstory we see is created for the single player campaign, were these civs will start small but end up BEING what there descriptions are. I dont know, i'm a newcomer and could be wrong.

kyogrel, diplomacy is currently disabled. BUT if you click on a town, then click on the landscape it has some 'basic menu options'... ie there are pictures in your lower lef hand corner of resarch, design, kingdom....and two hands holding for diplomacy. Click on that. Now there are no 'real' diplomatic options avialable BUT the 'dynasty' option. click on dynasty, then arrange marriages....and ABRA CADABRA (sorry ive had a few bee

I know. thats why I told him to 'not wake the dragon' :) I got the reference. I guess what I was trying to say as you get more and more offspring, eventually eveyrones going to be pretty inbred. Im just asking for options to NOT be inbred. Illegitamite children, ala Jon Snow, would be neat but i dont know how that would work out, might get things too complicated.

I posted earlier today about my 'dynasty looking like a telephone pole'. In my current game, ive been abusing the heck out of the dynasty system, marrying aunts to nephews, brothers to sisters, etc. Now, this isnt a problem in itself....im getting quite a chuckle out of it. BUT this does limit marriage options if one doesnt want to marry his or her first cousin. This leads to a few suggestions... 1) Penalty for Inbreeding: Ok, fa

Alright so it doesnt end there.....ive been able to marry aunts to nephews, more brother-sister marriages, etc. Pretty rediculous. Currently, doing so can slightly throw off the '1st in line for the throne of ____' statements. Also, My marriage between brother and sister is recognized as one couple rather than two (two couples are displayed in the dynasty screen). The more I see this, the more I wonder about how convoluted and incestuo

Fyi, it is currently possible to marry a brother to a sister in the dynasty stystem. In my current playthrough (Altar), one of my 'grandsons' stayed with me and a 'grandaughter' swore allegiance to tarth. This was a brother sister pair, and then i promptly set up a wedding between the two, who are now both married. Itll be intersting to see the children- will the game recognize them as two couples or as one?

When uprgading a unit (previously with a 'soldier's cloak') I added a 'Great Cloak' in the other category. At this point, the great cloak appeared (eliminated soldier's cloak) but THE STATS REMAINED THE SAME in the unit design page. (ie did not decrease attack and defense by one). Upon building the unit, the stat decrease was present. Also, in general the 'design' page has items appearing in the wrong category- soldier's cloak is appearing in the weapons, and many

My character (gilden) had a third generation 'grand'son (male) born to one of my direct line (male) and one of Altar's heirs (female). As usual (is his intended?), the new heir swore fealty to the mother's country. However, I had recently destroyed Altar, as well as all of their 'dynasty' with the exception of the guys mom, causing him to swear alliegence to a non-existant nation.

Elemental seems to have more of a master of magic feel than HoMM....so I think (hopefully?) heroes will be in combat. Does anyone know how the unit stats break down? I noticed archers can 'shoot' at adjacent tiles, which seems to be based off of movement bonuses. But what is the advantage to building a squad of weaker armed/armored soldiers vs building an individual 'elite' type soldier? Im assuming its because only one figure in a unit is attacked at a time, but

So far, LOVE the game! CITY BUILDING - Love the system. Currently am no spamming cities, AND each one is getting rather specialized. I like the idea of 'merging' smaller buildings into a bigger one with the bonuses (ie my merchants merging into a market with the bonuses). This should be in place WITH the curren restrictions (so you have to have a city of a certain size in order to get bigger buildings). This will prevent cities from get
