I personally think Stardock should be happy because the article I linked to describes a system that prevents downloads, even though it could easily be circumvented. It's at least progress in the prevention of illegally downloading games.

I'm pretty sure that if you sign a pact with someone, then they can't offer the same pact to you, because you already have it. I'm pretty sure (someone confirm this) that you can have only one pact per row on the "Manage Pacts" screen. I'd like someone to check this though.

I would reccomend trying a different mod first. Sins of the Fallen requires mods to be a certain order, and that can get confusing. You might also want to go to the mod thread and download the newest version of the mod. To switch names and actually make a mod work, you must also modify the GalaxyScenarioDef.galaxyscenariodef file and the PlayerTech, PlayerPsi (Advent), and PlayerPhase (Vasari) entity (ship) files with your new entity (ship) names.
