Yeah it seems the AI and the Monsters are on the same "team" so to speak.

I agree this is very lame. My settlers and caravans are constantly under attack, yet the AI never has to worry about this. IMO it's lame and ought to be changed.
STability really has been getting better. I was a naysayer before, but it looks like this game can be stable afterall. Now for the sake of all that is holy, when adding new features really test them out so they don't bug out on us. If we can get a stable game we can start modding. I am really looking forward to that.
Well I will say this. This is the most stable build I have seen. The game crashes very very infrequently. I got an OOM but it took a long time to happen. Not like before. And I had one hang up in a tactical combat. This is a much improved product right now. Some of these crashes have persisted for so along I assumed that Stardock could not fix them, but some of them are gone. Game is playable now. And I see another patch went out "u". I'll test tomorrow and see.
It's not 3rd party programs, it's not drivers, it's not my hardware. This kinda of response gets really old because is indicates that there is no understanding of the problems and no ownership of quality assurance by the Devs. Now I am pretty sure this is not the Devs stance on this issue but still when this becomes the standard response you have serious issues with the game. I have a libray of games that could fill a phonebook that all run flawlessly on my computer. I have the latest
Lawl, I am so tempted to youtube this thing crashing. This game crashes like within 5-10 mins. I dunno what people are smoking. Run it on large map with full AI opponents. I am very close to youtubing it and showing a timeline and the number of crashes that occur. Narrate it and all....just so people can see. I won't do this until after official non beta patch. But my patience is coming to an end.
Game is full of crash. Put it on large map with full AI opponents and it will crash all kinds of bad. I dunno, I sure hope this gets ironed out soon, I have had this game like 3 months and it still is not really playable. Even pre Beta in it's Beta release state after the official Beta it still would crash. Those same crashes are happening but now there are even more because of more beta features. There are some underlying things happening that are good, but honestly until you get thi
I am getting crashes as usual. The same crashing issue is still there from the previous versions and now with this new BETA it is even more unstable. I get crashes constantly loading saved games or doing anything. My computer can body slam this thing graphically yet it is just crash after crash after crash. So far no hope for anything remotely playable. This game crashes like one would expect an alpha build to do. Stardock needs to get SERIOUS about fixing the crashing. Beta or not th
Please fix the crashes, fix the memory leaks. No matter what you release if it is not stable it is worthless. Get the game stable and open it up to modding.
Well Steven, this game has been Beta past it's official release date so we are starting to enter into uncharted waters here. I do not share your optimism with the game being stable in 1.10. Every patch I check for stability fixes, every time it crashes the same amount. It seems like the same issues are plaguing this game patch after patch. With this NEW beta I see even more crashing, I can't even really bother myself to boot it up anymore it crashes so much. From the previous version
Solution is wait for this to be fixed. I was hoping they would be fixing the existing memory leaks....but alas they are adding new ones. Memory leaks are usually a result of hastily done or sloppily done coding. There is no quick fix for that. The game code needs to be rewritten and patched. They need one guy to really be all over the memory leaks and bad coding....they must have someone doing it, but I have never seen a game with so much crashing and memory issues. For all intents and purpos
Same deal here, just crashes over and over. This beta 1.1 is worse by far. This game has not seen one stable release yet. There is no way this thing will be in an acceptable state for 1.1. The engine and the game are plain garbage. I honestly do no think Stardock has the technical knowhow to fix this game. I will not pass judgment till the official release of 1.1, but I already know they are going to release 1.1 in an unstable state. I have very little confidence that it will be fixed
Not trying to be rude but I don't think Stardock will ever get rid of the memory leaks. Every time I see patch notes it talks about eliminating memory leaks, yet the same crashes happen over and over. I don't really think that Stardock can fix this with the current engine, and that means anything using this engine is something I ought to avoid. I have been just letting the game crash, but figured I drop in and at least let Stardock know that the crashes are still happening with the same frequ
Mounted Combat fixed yet? Do the Devs realize many people are just not using mounts at all because of how annoying it is?
[quote who="Frogboy" reply="121" id="2796035"]The tactical combat is in the process of being redone completely. When I can grovel marketing approval, I'll start putting up screenshots. Basically, the "sides" don't take turns anymore. Instead, individuals take turns based on their combat speed and each "turn" they can either move, start an attack, start casting a spell or start performing a special ability. So there are no longer overall "turns" in tactical combat p
Well 3D Grundge if you keep making quality weapons like this I will keep adding them in. Thing is the shop weapons are getting to be pretty big in selection. Will have to get more creative about how they get in game...like via quest or what have you and add special properties to them. Very good work, makes the game quite a bit more fun with added choices. And they look as good as default weapons..you can't tell they were not made by same people. Some new armors would be
Updated files fix for titan blade in Grundges weapons. It was being given along side the longsword which was not really all that great. So it has been bumped up to top tier tech. VERSION 1.0 CHANGES Staves have a small defense bonus. 1 Def for Staff and 2 Def for War staff Descriptions updated specified 1H or 2H on some questionable weapons <p style="text-align: cent

Hey 3D Grundge I tweaked the XML and put it in this post https://forums.elementalgame.com/397901 if this is not kosher let me know and I will change it. I just changed an XML and uploaded it for download. And then put installation instructions up and linked your mods and post.
I may get these and balance them for play in the game if it is ok. I will link to here or put your name with it, it would be nice to have your weapons set up inagme so they flowed with everything else. It looks like most of them would be special weapons, either pricy and avilable later in the techs or maybe as quest rewards. The game has the basics for weapons and armors covered but there is always room for special items. It would make the game a lot more interesting to play.
I can tell you that I get FAR LESS OOM crashes on my 260mGTX laptop than my 4870 1GB ATI card on my desktop. The laptop, even though it is much weaker, runs the game far better than my Desktop which is a beast with every other game. The optimization for ATI cards seems piss poor atm.
Dude the AI can instantly pump out pioneers. They are literally like cockroaches. I killed off one neighboring faction. This created a small empty area nearby. I immediately made a pioneer. Before 6 turns could elapse the AI had apparently surveyed the territory and settled like 4 cities there. In addition there were still like 4 or 5 pioneers roaming. It's kinda disgusting. The AI I think cheats a bit to do it that fast and to know exactly where the resources are.
Bumping files updated for 1.09, weapons tweaked much better now.
I got OOM turn 169 Large map Windows Vista 64 bit with ati 4870. I don't know if there is any hope the memory leaks will be stopped.
This should have been in already, I don't use mounts because of this anymore. I cannot understand why it wasn't addressed as one of the FIRST issues for speeding up combat in tactical...it was one of the most glaring issues to begin with. I think it's ridiculous to have to wait yet ANOTHER month to get this fixed.
