And, people wonder why there should be a federal tax at the register instead of mailing in a form. As Dr. Guy stated take a deep breath. Also, beware there are more out there in the forrest just waiting to come into your world. Good luck, and enjoy your vacation. Pam

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Are the right wingers doing something bad again. Are the great and wonderful Americans being lead down the path by this horrific christian president. Or, is this just another left winger who is just want to stir up the pot of political stew. Sorry just couldn't help myself. Pam
You are probably wondering what the above title is leading to. Several months ago my father was diagnosed with cancer. He is 82. His common-law wife (Lois) is 87. Let first talk about Lois. Lois is not a well person. In the last 10 years she has had a heart attack that lead to three of the ports leaving, and entering the heart to be
Let see: Whitney Houston Reba Karen Carpenter (my favorite) Carly Simon (not that great of a looker, but one H. . . of a voice) Linda Ronsadt Debbie Harry (Blondie) Nicki French - Sorry!, she is british Bette Milder Given some more time I probably come up with a few more This is funnnnnnnnnnnn. Pam
Been gone for a while, however, I am back and ready to give me two cents. The Mac article made me remember my days as a Mac Head. Gave it up back around Thanksgiving last year. Reason; I like the Window Xp Interface. I enjoy see what I can do to change the look and feel of the GUI. Now after close to twenty years using a Mac I know how good they are, albeit their are some short comings, and the main problem is Apple has fought to keep out of their Fabulous OS system the ablitily to
Great article, well written, and extremely thought out. As someone who has read a great about Greek and Minoan history then you probably know or at least realize that the period you refer ("Thera Event") to brought about what historian's call the first "Dark Ages.' Most people who read this article will not be able to equate the period in human history to a dark age because of the destruction to some of the great libraries around the world. Even th
There are some pretty good media players out there, and in all reality they all have something special that makes them unique. I use iTunes and Media Player 10. For those of you who have an iPod (as I do) there is a program (shareware) called xPlay out there that is great for working with the iPod (allows music transfers without being on the original computer). As to music I have a SATA 160 Gig drive that has over 110 gigs of music (a grea
drmiler, Well my dear let put it another way. The house I live in was built in 1885, and it is still in fairly good shape, however, if it were to be restore back to its original design it could become a historial building. . .but of course that will never happen. Just because a building or structure is old and for some reason seems to have some form of historial meaning does not mean it should be restored. It is nice to have a way of looki
Hey I am a liberial, and this was funny. Not sure who said it, but one of the best lines goes something like this: "If you cannot laugh at yourself, then what can you laugh at." Sometimes you just have to sit back and smile then laugh at what life has to throw your way. Pam
As to "Billy Clinton's" birth home they could use as practice for the local fire department for all I care. But because we want the Latino vote we must save these churches. My, my, my, my, how could I be so stupid. Pam
This sound like pandering to me. For one there are a thousand other things far more important that some old beat up church being restored. Chances are the people who worshipped undeer their roofs have moved on, and because of that they in reality could probably care less if the churches are restored. These are not ancient ruins like you find in the Med or the Middle East. These are only buildings that have served their purpose, hence, it is time fo
Here is something that may help your argument. 1. Big time sports are important money gathers for major cities. Least take Seattle for an example; first it has the big three sports draws (baseball, football, and basketball). This is important because these types of sports help bring in large conventions which in turn bring large amounts of business revenue. Thus, along with the business revenue come the taxes, Taxes which include conven
I attempt to read as much as possible on how my party is doing, and in doing so I run across a great deal of material that demostrates the position we have placed ourselves. There is an article on Slate.com titled: "Feel-Good Politics - The therapeutic activism of MoveOn.org." This is something I feel all liberals and democrates need to read. It really lays out the problems we are having within the party. Moveon.org is really not the voice I want o
“The Senate follows more elaborate rules when the chamber is divided over a bill. These procedures can sometimes slow the proceedings to a crawl. Senators cherish their right to be consulted on bills being considered, to offer amendments, and to speak at length on measures. The Senate rules that permit filibusters give members the power to obstruct legislation merely by threatening to use the procedure. A filibuster can only be stopped if 60 senators v
Least take a deeper look into what is happening here. The dem's want to stop the appointment of rep judges right. . .yes. Now least look at it another way; the rep's did the same thing when the dem's attempted to place left leaning judges in office. What this is going to work up to is a thing called compromise. I pretty much figure most of you remember some of the great compromises that have taken place in our history, specially during the period t
Sorry about writing something that does not pertain to the subject matter, howerer, this is something that has to be said. Dade - do you really beleive that raising taxes on the wealthly and larger corps is really going to help. Sorry if you do. It may help in a small way, however, it isn't going to help the buying and paying public. You think gas prices are high now what do you think will happen when these large oil companies get hit with
Grim - Good points on the pay for congress, judges, senators, and the president. These are elected individuals who have choosen to fill these position; no one asked them to run, so why should they earn more than say $85,000 a year. A also agree on NASA it is only funded with around one percent of the national budget. A large part of the funding for NASA comes from private companies, and other countries who like us want to place special types of sat
As you, I also used pell grants along with other grants available to work my way through college. So of those other grants I received some are no longer out there for young people today, but if someone wants to get an education there are a large amount of grants for specific areas (computer education, business programs, etc.) that can be found. Now what helped me get those grants was 1) I came from a family of 10 (6 girls, 4 boys), and the f
Is is the same as when I sign off . . . Pam
Oh boy it is time to watch "Shrek 2" (the fifth time this week). The grandkids are here tonight (mom and dad needed a night off). See zOmbie we grandma's are nice to have around. Wait that is Great-Grandma's (I have a two year Great-Grandson). Pam
iamheather - that would take a lot of doing, no one looks that bad. zOmbie - another great article. I am with you on the core widgets; I have the three you discused here in this article, and they are set to load up at start up. The only real problem is with the weather widget (not the fault of the widget) I don't have cable or DSL so it is at the mercy of my dailup (live out in the hinterlands; way out). Looking forward to your nex
zOmbie, another great article. Only one question: "Are you looking for a job at StarDock?" Oh, and by the way, not all Grandma's live in a house of fine lace, and antique china. Some us are into computers, and other geeky things, hence do not have room for those type of things.
Sorry zOmbie for using your blog to say thank you to BlueDev, BlueDev, thank you for the suggustion on Winplosion. Went to there site and downloaded the program; it is now loaded and running. Works great. Pam
BlueDev, Thanks for the information; will giive Winplosion a try. Will have to read up a litttle more on WFX siince I am using the problem. To Anonymous - sorry to hear you are so broke you can't afford WB. But that is your loss. Pam
zOmbie like you I have a large monitor set to either 1600-1200 or 1920-1440, and because of this a great deal of the DesktopX suites do not look good because they are designed primarily for 1024-764 screens. Because of the latter there are some really excellent DesktopX suites out there I would like to use, but can't. Widgets look like they could be something that has even greater promise then the present day ones. I have no particular widg
