I mean, the NJO was tolerable, but the general direction it took things is just terrible. Things like Natasi Daala being Chief of State and the portrayal of the Mandalorians, two reasons why I won't read anything after the NJO beyond maybe the Dark Nest trilogy any time soon. Then there is the Clone Wars mania doing far too much ignoring the existing canon like adding new content without u

The TEC are very similar to the Terrans from StarCraft, both have strong early game combos and economic supremacy (the Terrans in SCII more so than in SC), but the TEC suffers in the late game due to a lack of abilities besides Armistice that can compete with the likes of Advent and Vasari late game abilities. The Javelis LRM Frigate and the Garda Flak Frigate are a viable if not necessary option for the TEC. The Advent are so reliant on combos and lots of shields, a tendency reminice

Vanilla Sins and Entrenchment are fine, but Diplomacy is a bad joke. Entrenchment does exactly what it says, adds defenses. Starbases and mines are meant to slow thinks down.

Assuming you have Impulse reinstalled, you should be able to open Impulse on your computer, go to My Games, and reinstall the games, but I don't know exactly how to do that seeing as I have only installed Sins of a Solar Empire once from disk.

Actually, my point is that it was closer to pure free market capitalism in the beginning and it is moving farther away from it now. Bad policy and a place for bail outs, I completely agree. The last bail out just didn't have a place.

Actually, you can win with Culture with any faction, it is just much easier to do so with the Advent. The key is to gain a foothold in every solar system, build a Culture Center (Broadcast Center/Media Hub/Temple of Communion) there, and raid enemy systems for their Culture Centers, Starbases, and Capital Ships if possible. Culture does travel between solar systems, it just loses its effectiveness fast.

[quote who="Darvin3" reply="6" id="2895534"] It isn't the capitalist way to bail out a private company To be fair, pure market capitalism is nothing more than abstract concept. It's become the mantra of the right-wing recently, but only when it's convenient for them and their policies. Any viable economic system is a hybrid of government institutions/regulation and market forces, and the discussion of where to draw the line along this spectrum has no clear-cut answers.<b

[quote who="SIN-Imperium" reply="1" id="2895450"]A Serbian politician getting killed kicked off WWI. A surprise attack by two nations most others assumed did not posses a global war capability began WWII. Sudden change is a given at all times its just difficult to determine the exact "when". We certainly are living in times like pre-WWI & II...anything can happen. I think most people underestimate how momentous the change happening right now really

Thanks to the Distant Stars Wiki, I was able to add the missing Diplomacy Research Trees and update the existing Research Trees. The research effects on primarily the vanilla trees need to be written in plain English instead of code, but other than that they are looking good.

That is what I thought, extracting useful information is about the only thing that needs to be with the SoaSEWiki pages. I hope an admin can be reached, I already had to redirect a misnamed version of the SoaSEWiki:Percheron Light Carrier page. If not then I will request an admin position, I probably should do that on <a title="Homewo

Well, Terran is similar to Vasari in that Zerg and Advent, respectively, are weak against them, the match up against Protoss and TEC, respectively, is a lot better, but the balance is far worse in SC2 than it is in Sins. I also noticed that Zerg and Advent, respectively, both have problems with the AI using them being comparable to dropping them down a level in skill. Just a few rough parallels I noticed between SC2 and Sins.

A thought just occurred to me, does Vasari Phase Missile OP remind anyone of Terran OP from StarCraft II? I don't have SC2, so I can't attest to Terran OP personally, but the similarities seem to be there, though, the balance here is definitely much better than what I have heard about in SC2. Apparently, the Domina Subjugator doesn't share that sentiment about autocast.

Why don't people still play Entrenchment more if Diplomacy is a mess? I have officially decided that I will be getting both of them in a few days, so expect to be seeing Zeta1127 or the Dragoenix Order soon enough.
