For years we’ve awarded “medals” to winners in the various GUI Champs events. In past years though they were really just virtual medals, and then some physical prizes. This year though we wanted to do something special. The 2008 GUI Champs has a new site, the best prize pool ever, so why not actual medals? <a href="https://draginol.stardock.net/images/zoo
@Stardock: Please build some kind of P2P mechanism into Impulse! Come on, do you really see any benefit in distributing downloads (the 1.1 patch might be around 250MB, but how big will Entrenchment be???) centralized?
The problem with P2P is that it can not provide a consistent and uniform experience. Some days you may get a great dl rate, other times it may suck. Then there's the problem of ISPs doing traffic shaping on P2P traffic, or blocking it completel

I upgraded to 8gb of RAM a few weeks ago, and wow has there been a huge difference. I hardly ever hear my drive thrashing (aside from moving around large files or defragging), I haven't had that typical stuttering in games when loading in a new area because it's not having to go to the disk cache for data. This was an upgrade from 2GB. Night and day difference.

You've seen some teasers from Brad recently showing off the new look of Impulse and talking about a number of improvements we've been working on to make the overall user experience a better one. Today we've put out an update to Impulse that will allow you to check out our latest beta version of the client. For all the details on how to upd

Attention all Dream-Makers, you only have a few more days to tweak and upload your Dreams for consideration in the Most Original and Most Usable Dream events! Friday, November 21st 11:59pm EST is the cut-off for those two events. Dreams submitted, or updated, after that point will NOT be elligible for the public voting round. So if you have any changes to get in, time is running out.</

This weekend? Between rounds of editing papers, it was Wrath of the Lich King for me. My Dwarven Death Knight, Durstof, is lvl 61 now and is plodding through the outland content as quickly as possible I haven't even touched my lvl 70 paladin more than getting him into northrend and setting his hearth to the in in Howling Fijord.

Even though the concept of abandonware is a very gray area, Atari does still hold the rights to the IP/game and as they have not themselves released a free copy of the game, we have to discourage spreading download links here. I've removed the link from the top of the thread and locked the topic. I know everyone's jazzed about Elemental and want to get in some fun with MoM before the beta comes out, but we can't have folks swapping download links on the forums. Sorry.</p

It appears there was a slight change in our RSS URLs on the forum side. This will require some work on Monday morning to correct with Feedburner.

I've removed the MS Word formatting from the original post. Excepting technical issues or simple time matters (i.e. I haven't reviewed the skin yet), skin moderation, especially for the GUI Champs is discussed between the skin author and moderators only. If a skin is no longer available on the site, there is a reason. There is no sinister or suspicious conspiracy going on.

Picking up SkinStudio yourself is the best way to go. Plus, it's the only way you can enter the competition since any skin submitted must be 100% the work of the skinner who uploads it. No one is allowed to help push pixels or put images together.
I was hoping the Pink Space Ponies died with Sins of a Solar Empire. Guess not! Now, if one of the included creatures in Elemental is a Pink Space Pony, I think I'll have to hurl. I'm just impressed there hasn't been a thread about it yet. (I've now just guaranteed there will be one soon)
I don't think you have to worry about them in Elemental... at least not the official game. At worst there may be a user mod or something. Sorry if my humor mis

The major benefit for me? I'll be able to craft the truely epic, ancestral home of The Pink Space Ponies. Only the 64-bit map will allow me to recreate this divine land with the scale and wonder it deserves! For some day, the decendents of this great land will become legend amonst the Vasari, Advent and Trader Worlds!
