Dabe... keep it civil or you will be removed from the discussion. And when it comes to zealotry, you've been far worse than any of the conservatives on this site. Consistently you fail to back up your assertions, ignore arguments against your points and fall back on vulgar language and insults whenever you can't come up with an actual argument or point. You and your kind did help push me away from the Democratic party as it is today, because the lea

Kryo, I'd be interested in seeing how you go about doing that. I had briefly played with the idea myself and had written a small bit of code to do map generation and such but didn't have enough free time to complete it.

I guess this sort of thing lends credibility to Col Gene's assertion that people are too dumb to make their own decisions. I wonder if he'd be willing to extend this to say that obviously the far left is too dumb to be allowed to vote.

I can not say for certain that I would remain favorable or move against my above statement. I would likely react in anger, and want everyone connected to the attack slaughtered mercilessly. That doesn't make my position right, it makes it vengance. In some cases we need to step back from immediate personal impacts and examine what would provide the greatest benefit to the US. You should not legislate for the minority in ways the negatively impact t

Historical Accuracy: (Man I wish I remember to disable anon users more often) I find the flat-out discounting of a good chunk of the country to be more dangerous than any of the crazier left-wing platforms. There is a fine line to walk here that you are crossing much like the extreme left is crossing. You want to swing the far other direction, which scares the hell out of me. You would forfeit personal freedoms and rights in the intere

LOL! I discounted Dabe completely and utterly long ago. It's just one more grain of sand to add to the pile. Add enough grains of sand and eventually the scale tips. I notice Dabe still refuses to actually back up any of her points.

Best Buy is vulnerable to legal action because they refused legal tender in payment of a bill WITHOUT stating that they would not take certain forms of payment. If they have posted a notice saying they do not take certain forms of payment or certain denominations of money, that's fine... but they must have it posted. Which they did not. The police could probably be hit with something along the lines of incompetence since it should be known t

For the planet conflict issue. Wouldn't it be possible to have racial preferences overlap? Assuming the standard 20 point scale on planets (I'm assuming it's 20, as I've never seen higher than a 19 and 20 seems like a reasonable limit) of 0 to 20, you could have each race with a preference range. Humans like 10 - 20, Dregs like 2 - 12, Altarians like 8 - 18 and so on. There are now several overlaps where the races could fight over the resources. In the example I

I've seen some of the extremism on the Right here, but it usually takes a different form from the Left. On the Left it's a hope that the US fails in some way or has vengence visited upon them. The far right has a habit of labeling anyone who disagrees with them as traitors that should get the hell out of the US. Don't like the Iraq war? You must be an unpatriotic bastard and should just move to Canada! The thing is right now, since the war

This one is for you, the extreme liberals of JoeUser who have spent the past year and a half I've regularly blogged here screaming, stomping and gnashing teeth over the pure evil that is George Bush and the vile conspiracies of the Right. You have helped me further define my political views, my stances on issues and my attitude towards our government and the world at

Col - 18 of your last 20 articles are attacks on Bush. Your "trick" is the 'I Hate Bush Beyond All Reason' You want to blame the downfall of the civilized world at his feet. You yourself refuse to acknowledge any points that refute your own arguments, so don't attack others for the same thing. If you showed any signs at all of being balanced, maybe you would be taken seriously. But all you do is scream about Bush destroying everything we s

greywar: Thanks for a much needed laugh first thing on a Monday morning! You've been peeking at the secret Tech Support Repair Manual haven't you? That means someone broke the silence... now THEY must be silenced for breaching our ancient and sacred traditions! Raven: I had that happen to me about a year and a half ago. Why should the burden of proof rest on me? You're the one who's posting this points as if they're fact. The responsibility lies with YOU to provide proof. Refusal to back up assertions signals that you're just talking out your arse. If you have any hope of being taken seriously, you need to back up what you say.

Gas prices can be blamed more for a drop in sales than anything else right now. Gas prices hit us in the pocketbook at more places than the pump. Gas prices influence the cost of shipping goods across the country to retail outlets, forcing outlets to raise prices to maintain profit levels (note I say to maintain, not to elevate). Airlines are looking to put on a fuel fee again to offset costs. This will have a drastic impact on the cost of flying a

In Baltimore, MD you can evidently find some of the nations dumbest store clerks AND law enforcement officials. See Link The short summary, man buys car radio at best buy, has it installed, later finds out it doesn't work with his car returns to Best Buy for a replacement. He is told the

I had a similar problem to this while I was in college. Here is the easy and simple solution to avoid problems like this in the future... Individual Leases. Most realitors will never mention this option, and some will actively discourage it, but most will in fact allow it if you push for it. What this does is says you're responsible for X amount of the rent every month (in your case under the original arrangement, 1/3rd). Each rent

I just noticed something when I posted my last article a few moments ago. JU is double-counting my posts. According to my profile panel on the upper right I've written 70 articles. When I go back and read through my index however, it appears I've only written 62. The last 4 articles got double-counted on me. What does 600 hold? I'm curious. (Not that I'll ever make it to that point though, taken me a year and a half to hit 62)
