OK, here's an edited version of my thoughts for workshop guidelines. Feel free to give feedback and constructive criticism. Everything is still open for discussion and changes. I will be adding to this and editing it frequently as new ideas are added and changes are made. Keep checking back for amendments and changes, thanks. As one of the most prolific Star Trek content providers if there was a copyright complaint from CBS and Paramount I would have no problem taking them down from workshop myself. I think the only times I have been harsh to another player in regard to stealing, pirating and redistributing under their name is when they repeatedly did this and/or flat refused to remove it themselves and resorted to calling me profanities. It's happened quite a few times on Steam, to the point that I
Holy moly!!! That's some very valuable research you did. I wasn't even aware of this. Thank you very very much for bringing that information up. Thank you for doing this Eride! I feel like I've just been schooled and in a good way. Awesome 👍
In my opinion, no one should be posting modified designs of existing designs in the workshop outside of rare occasions. Cramming the workshop with copycat designs is not only unfair to the original creator, but it also reduces the usability for players. I don't want to have to scroll through a bunch of similar designs looking for "diamonds in the rough." I also don't want to have to rely on only looking at the highest rated des
Jafo, I would like you to help us understand the difference between US copyright law, DMCA and international copyright law so we get it right the first time. I am somewhat familiar with US copyright law but could I use more information on DMCA and international copyright law. I would like whomever is selected including myself, if I'm allowed to become a workshop moderator, to be familiar with the differences should any moderator have to take action against a violator they don't get misinterpr
I like the way you think gypsy. My spouse said the same thing. I still want to hear what Frogboy and a few others think before I edit out what you suggested.
The second warning lets the violator know the moderator isn't going to allow them to get away with it for very long and lets the violator know they are now on a short leash. A VERY short leash. If anyone else wants the second warning and 3 day suspension removed, I will take it out. Should probably just make 3 strikes and you're OUT. I trying very very hard not to be an exquisite anal cavity I have been known to be at times. [e digicons]:S[/e] So if I appear to be overly gene
I strongly recommend Starmac as a volunteer moderator. He too has been a long time contributor and a victim to ship design theft and pirating here and on the Steam GC3 workshop. Starmac, you got my vote!
Yes it would be best if everyone just created their own designs from scratch and shared them with the community. I feel using the workshop is a privilege not a right and as a privilege it can be revoked for blatant abuse and inconsideration of other users designs. My thoughts for workshop guidelines. * If a user wants to modify another users original design it should be mandatory with the workshop privilege to contact the original ships designer and get their "EXPLICIT" consen
You're welcome Navinor. I always support my fellow ship designers. I got your back.👍
I agree with you about what should and shouldn't be public Jafo. But sometimes in rare occasions it's necessary. ☹️ Yes, I go by Airmaster on Steam and Airmaster64 on Epic games if anyone wants to add me. 😁 And thank you Frogboy! Please keep us posted?
Here are the screenshots of the ship designs that have been stolen, pirated and uploaded to GC4 workshop under the names of the violators as seen in the screenshots. The original authors names are typed in under each screenshot. Originally designed by Starmac <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/44/8/4408511/989f1ff0-a438-43cd-8162-b634
I honestly understand and do not blame Starmac for no longer wanting to contribute to the GC4 workshop due to users stealing and pirating his ship designs. I stopped for a long time contributing to the GC3 Steam Workshop for this very reason. I am still waiting for one of my ship designs that was stolen, pirated and redistributed under another users name to be removed from the GC4 Workshop. Anyone notice not even Omnibus has made a single ship design for GC4? Anyone ever notice he no
I agree with you Schism and I know Moderation tools are still in development. I think most here are a bit taken back at how quickly it started happening and mostly by just one disrespectful user. Though we do need moderators to monitor workshop violations. As you well know this happens quite often to the most prolific contributors such as Omni, Starmac, myself and several others on the Steam GC3 Workshop. I think everyone just wants to help and doing what they can to that endevour. I
Ok I wish to be a volunteer. Just let it be known if I am allowed to become GC4 Workshop moderator, I am not taking any prisoners with habitual offenders. I'm have a very strong distain for this blantantly disrespectful behavior by players who steal, pirate and redistribute ship designs and civs without permission of the original author/creator. I'm sure you all know why.
I would like to recommend both Yarlen and Rhonin the Wizard. They have both been fantastic at moderation of the GC3 Steam Forums and Workshop. I would like to see it continue here on the GC4 Workshop.
I would like to know when moderation for the GC4 Workshop will be up and running? It didn't take long for one user to start taking others users ship design contributions and start pirating and re-upload them back to the GC4 Workshop under his own name without consent or permission of the original authors. This has been going on for 7 years on the Steam workshop and thankfully with
UPDATE: I ran a verify files scan and it resolved the issue. No longer having any graphics issues. Only happens when I play GC4 no other issues with other games or with any other programs and apps. Troubleshooting graphic software found no issues.
Here is another screenshot from the cut scene showing graphics distortion when playing.
I would like to know what is causing this problem. When zoomed out on galaxy map there are lines and pixel particles at top of the screen. I have tried to adjust graphics setting in game and have had no luck. This also happens on the cut scenes videos in the game. My graphics drivers are all up to date. Just recently noticed this not sure out long its been doing this. My specs. <div class="device-specs-tableDeta
Find out that GC4 ship designer will not save player made custom ship parts. Thumbnail images do not appear. They do appear in the design folder but do not show up in parts menus as usable ship parts. If I try to use the custom ship part in spite of the thumbnail image not showing it crashes the game. Please fix?
Fact of the matter is that Air master did not create those ships. Air master used the parts supplied by the games Galactic 1,2,and three. none of the parts of those ships which are copyrighted belonged to him/her. They belong to the game producer and he would be in violation of U.S. law for claiming the collection of game supplied parts as his own design. A matter well documented in the courts by General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler when
Nocroman, You seriously need to educate yourself and learn the difference between patent and copyright. Furthermore what you're doing is also a violation of Steams rules and law as stated the STEAM SUBSCRIBER AGREEMENT. 6. USER GENERATED CONTENT D.
