Just an FYI, I will re-post my removed start buttons after the contest. I felt greedy with the space I took up at wc, on top of, they were not very good. So, If by some small chance anyone was curious,my insane reasoning,DT1. I just wanted to add, RND thanks, and you are a big part of why I removed things.Along with others who only submitted a couple buttons, I know ,you did not care probably, but SWITCH, which rocks, got pushed off because of so many subm

Iwould add that I saved the active glass image as a png, not a bmp, if it matters. I also tried just making a new image and saving it as your image which also became corrupted, so I am guessing the code in relation to the skin got screwy and needed deleted and replaced. So do the above fix, delete code, delete image from file, make new, import and save, should fix it. I also deleted all 4 images and replaced with the new, fyi.Active-inactive-activeglass-inactive

Okay, I got your skin and when I open it in sks, I went to explorer backgrounds and any of the 4 bmp image you have, if you so much as highlight that area in sks, the text in the selection box{groupbox} becomes invisible, as you stated. Now, I could not even open the bmp image in photoshop. Corrrrupted. I deleted the info in the code editor, made a new image and imported that image and seems to have fixed it, So, try that. sequence.

Try changing the window background color in the skin settings. In the skin defined section. I see the text is white and some apps use the windows background color I believe for boxes and windows.

Thanks everyone for the input. Lightstar is somewhat on the same page except that the places list mouseover image I aam using is the same, but even if I remove the mouseover from the skin, I get that cross text usage. I did set all back to os default as I said and I also tried without the moseover on either side with the same result. The os default is black normal and white mouseover, I want blue and white. SO , I guess its a code thing, no biggie, just t

And, without the item mouseover images I can achieve the Blue normal and White mouseover on the programs side while leaving the places side as OS default and get BLUE and white on the programs side with black{os default} and white mouseover{os default} on the places side. Then as soon as I set the places normal color, it takes away the white mouseover on the programs side...Am I stupid? Waity, do not answer that, just the rest of my questions. DT1

However,no matter what I try. I can not achieve a normal color of BLUE and a Mouseover color of white in all areas of the start menu. I have item mouseover images, FYI, I tried everything. The best I get is the normal BLUEI want and White mouseover everyplace except on places side. When I say everywhere I meam: Programs; Places All Programes and all programs includes the arrow and the ap list. Any insight? With all my items set to o

You can disable the blur effect in: Edit start menu and Taskbar----then for each section, IE: top part bottom bar, programs, places, at the bottom under extra settings, change from blur to your choosinAlthough, you may have to uncheck the alpha settings. From the image, looks like the glass is blurred on the left, but not the right.Very hard to know exactly what you have changed without the wba to look at.Were these images transparent before you tinkered with them
