Adjacency bonuses for the DR/TDA/PR are pretty much irrelevant. And having to have a given specific resource is indeed a good idea. But they not well balanced - before this latest patch, they were of very dubious worth in any case, and now, they're stupidly Overpowered. What is important is the +8 bonus it gets to the base, and then the +1 bonus for each level of the DR. Both are *massively* overpowered, because, as

I consider the Steam workshop to be my massive random generator. I have accrued 70 - 80 factions of varying styles. I avoided most of the recognizable lore based factions and looked for visual variety. I also consider it a random trait and ability generator because I have no idea what those people did to all those factions. Set up an insane map, set the difficulty to genius, pick 20 - 30 random factions, promote some of those to Incredible just so I don't know who

Well, that was the closest thing to a reasonable explanation I had. I don't know any other game mechanic that would do that. There is a possibility they avoid other people's slipstream generators or military starbases as a general rule, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
Don't those modules slow down opposing ships? That would be a reason for going around their zone of control.

This was reported and is fixed in the in-house build and will come out in a future update.
I have been here since the Alpha, attended all the dev streams, etc, and listened carefully for the connection between Trade Resources and Wonders that has been mentioned, but never actually heard an explanation what that connection is. I got the impression it was some pre-coding concept that never got carried into actual implementation, possibly when it was decided to allow multiple copies of Trade Resources, although that is reading a lot between the lines of what was said.
The fine art of appreciating a "crap start" is something that partially eludes me. I like my maps kind of open, where we all have a little room before we start smashing empires together. The RNG occasionally puts me right next to an AI player as its version of a whimsical joke. I restart immediately. It doesn't happen all that often, so I resist the temptation to pre-check maps by removing FOW. So , while I sometimes play for the challenge, I support those wh
The Thalan Gaia Vortex gives +3 everything adjacencies and can be added to the above list of useful Shrinker neighbors. It also adds to the local production of the planet, which is useful since its shipyard is often getting bonuses along with the Shrinker. The Arcean special buildings can both benefit from and contribute to military adjacencies. Adding to their global speed boosts when I capture one of their planets that have those buildings is one of my new favorite militar
Well, to be clear, I'm hardly a new player, hence my frustration. (So, the AI cheats in this version? What ever happened to Stardock's pride in having AI that was smart and didn't need to cheat? I thought their whole reason for going 64 bit this time was to make it even smarter.) I think that the bottom line from what I'm reading above is that instead of
They should fight you tooth and nail, with extra accuracy bonuses due to being hyped up rebels for the cause. Space Pirates are nothing compared to these desperately motivated crews! Go down in a blaze of glory!! Well, that's what I would do.
The evidence is in things like Autocarpus Viriles which affect growth on all colonies. Hover over the growth display on the planet screen and you will see the bonus from Autocarpus Viriles and you will see it change with multiple copies. The same is true for Snuggler Colonies, Monsatium Deposits, and probably others I can't think of at the moment. By the end of the game, I will own all of the Autocarpus Viriles in the Galaxy, either by purchase or conque

I want a mode that displays techs you own but cannot be traded. Perhaps a set of greyed out entries below the tech list, with a hover tip as to why each one is not trade-able. Guessing at these things in a self documenting game is is not the way it is supposed to work. I don't want clutter, but I do want full clarity as to what I can or cannot do and why. I know it is a demanding thing to ask for, but I am a demanding kind of Galactic Dictator.
2. You have to save the ship and then save the actual game. Then the new ship will show up in future new games. It is not at all obvious and I lost a lot of design work figuring that out. Now I keep a game file around specifically for designing new ships and make a note to save it every session.
More Ship Parts!! Gotta love it. Here's what I just posted using the last ship parts DLC: I'm excited to see what is next.
I am finally happy with this one. I use it as a huge hull that I can load up with augments. According to my lore, it becomes the command ship of any fleet it joins. It appeals deeply to my sense of whimsy. The gag behind the animation is that a junior crew has lost control of the rotation and stability controls. The main ship part is from the latest DLC and I knew it was perfect for this concept I had in mind the moment I saw it. I just had to make the anim
1) I don't know; I have never tried that. 2) Yes, it is gone for all purposes.
Yay! A proponent for each ideology! A good sign that Stardock has as least made the three paths usable and somewhat balanced. Individual preferences will affect things for a while, but I expect there will be general preference for Malevolent. It fits more obviously with aggressive strategies, which are particularly satisfying to gamers with a taste for pixel on pixel violence. ;) There may be exploits we find in the ideology paths going forward, and that Stardock has
I use Benevolent for early colonization boosts, then research boosts, then the big influence-flips-everybody perk. I really milk that last one, taking opponent starbases and minor planets while being everybody's favorite peacenik. Or even while being the aggressively Benevolent dictator that I am and forcing new populations to love me at the point a laser blaster. Peace is always an option, but only an option, after all. ;) I can't imagine playing any o
This is the only report of such symptoms I have seen on these forums. It doesn't even sound close to anything I have heard about, especially the 5 to 10 minute part. Anything that lasted that long was never going to resolve itself. It would be best to go through the process and submit a ticket to Stardock. It is highly likely to be something unique to your system, but Stardock may be able to give you a pointer as to what it is. Edit: Ot
Actually i have always wondered about this type of thing? Not taking adjacency into account; When it comes to planetary tile bonuses and what is the best structure to put on them? For economic bonuses for example, should you put the economic capital on it or just a market or a bank? What about trade capital? A manufacturing bo
