I do Immense Galaxy with variable number of opponents. Working with 4-6 nowadays. 80 planets would be the extreme top end of settled planets. I use build lists a lot for planet management. I fine tune planets that need attention and the rest just fill in the list. I have no idea how many ships I have. I do one or two per planet for defense and reactive swarming. I set up one or two invasion fleets for all other military ships to rally to.

I understand that you want more and more option. I hope you understand that to me you are just asking for more and more complexity. The three sizes work well for me. The variation of what I can do within those three sizes seems more than sufficient to me. Big ships with lots of hit points and little guns. Little ships that are nothing but a gun and a hull. All have been done and all have been both useful and entertaining. Please do not break tha
Quoting NorsemanViking, reply 7 Anyways I want to underline this: The best strategy games have interesting micro. The worst and most soulless ones are streamlined to death. You may find yourself in the minority if you put "interesting" and "constructor spam" into the same sentence.
Here's a vote for the minority. Constructors swarming slowly across immense galaxies.
I don't have a floppy drive on my PC and haven't had for years. Am I going to have to upgrade my system to use this feature?
Repetiveness is a subjective measure. So that part I can't speak to. However, I do think that playing only at easiest levels will aggravate that situation. At easiest levels, the game has less chances to affect or change your play. You overcome all too easily all of its challenges. It is only when the game can challenge you that you get the feeling that outcomes are variable from game to game. Try going up just one level to see if you get a little more
Plenty of micro. Plenty of tools to make it efficient. That's what I want.

Thanks to the OP for bringing up an important point. Thanks to devs and Brad for reassurance and understanding. This is great!
I not only like the humor, I love it! My favorites are evil races attempting to be nice. "Your skin looks delicious!" is one of my favorites.
I like randomizing the number of minor races. They never break a game, but they add lots of opportunity for individual actions that shape the game. If nothing else, it changes things according to who gets the resources they often claim but can't hold against determined aggressors. They do get conquered a lot. Sometimes it just doesn't work out that way and that adds to the variation from game to game. Then again, the maj
Put me down as someone who considers Jagged Knife a not-fun event. I will live with everything else that happens, but Jagged Knife is a guaranteed reload. I guess that is one way to individually mod out that one event. on topic content for this forum.... Galciv 3 is coming! Just let the Jagged Knife try to stop that!
I just bought Galactic civilizations founders elite edition and it didn't even let me download anything was it supposed to do anything
You get a shiny badge under your name on the forums. What more do you want? Actually, it says it will notify you of a key for Steam download when the game is ready. Now, we have to pretend to be patient. Some of us will do that
If you play Civ, you should have no problem adapting to GalCiv. You will spend a while getting details down, but the basic concepts are there and recognizable. I found GalCiv an easy transition.
This sounds like an exciting development. In efforts like this we explore both gaming and AI. Now I can justify all this play time.
There's nothing wrong with wanting a GOG version of the game. It doesn't preclude a steam version, it adds to it.
As Frogboy points out, that is not correct. Steamworks is built into the game and those functions are NOT available on GOG. It would not be the same game. However, that won't stop anyone from making non-Steam demands, both reasoned
Stardock made a business decision to use Steam. They have explained that business decision clearly on these forums. It is based on their real numbers and experience that show sales and profits using Steam. How does a petition change those money decisions? Are you claiming that your petition will represent an actual significant percentage of projected sales? Are you factoring in any cost or efficiency trade-offs for Stardock going GOG? Are you claiming some so

Well done. You have saved/dominated the galaxy once again!
Can you raze a city when you capture it? I play defensively. The one time I ended up invading others, I found myself swamped by unhappiness due to number of cities.
Who else is on board?!?!?! We've been sitting here, money in hand, waiting for you! Welcome aboard. Got any DLC on you?
It will be way over my head, but I may learn something. Go for it.
Little things.... The selected unit pathing display should not be there when I am hovering over a button or element of the UI When I select a city, I should always have a left/right arrow to scroll between cities. If you were really good, the darn arrows would not jump and down just because the build lists are different. I have my mouse over the arrows and would love to scroll two cities over. Nope, the arrows moved out from under me. E
I am not upset about them, and I do love gags and gag items to a point. I did just get them in a game, though, and did find it immersion breaking. I can just go ahead and sell them if I want. That's not a problem, but yeah I can understand how jarring it would be to see them on an opponent. Not that I pay that much attention to opponent look other than "That looks neat." However, once I noticed, it might get hard to un-notice. Ah well,
