I have done a 2-hour test game: No Mods Large Map, Locked Team, Pirates Inactive All TEC Rebel Hard AI P1 Aggressive Dark Green P2 Defensive Dark Blue P3 Research Light Green P4 Economic Light Blue P5 Economic Red P6 Aggressive Cyan P7 Economic Yellow The AIs were not as upgrade-happy as I last perceived, but note that even at 2 hour mark, some of the AIs left many ships unresearched. When I broke the AI, they quite c
So I've removed the research for Light Carriers from all factions and the Light Carrier itself. Tested it for about an hour and it seemed to work.
Maybe try to test it for 2 hours or so, and check what the AI has researched. If it had research most/all prototype, but only a few weapon upgrades, then the change has "broken" the AI. Normally the AI researches more weapon upgrades than ship prototypes, but with some cha
Hi Folks! I bought the ultimate edition from Steam a few months ago, and have only JUST found out that: 1. You do not need to have the Steam client running to play the game. Instead, you could go directory to the galciv2 folder and run the game .exe from there. 2. Not only that, but you could play the vanilla Dread Lords (\GalCiv2.exe) and Dark Avatar (\DarkAvatar\GC2DarkAvatar.exe) too, not just Twilight of the Arnor. I wonder if these have been mentione

Wow great reads! Does the vanilla AI described here still apply for Rebellion? My feeling is that the AI is not that eager to research ships, and Advent for example often queue up a large amount of weapon/shield upgrades.
Hello, I am a new player of rebellion, and recently uploaded the mod "Trivial Options". I have noticed something about modding and AI. It seems modding can potential "breaks" the original per-faction AI and make it fall back to some kind of generic AI. I stumbled on this by accident: When testing my mods (which removes some research items from player entity files), by pitching AIs vs AIs, I noticed each AIs skipped certain ship prototype researches for a very
Trivial Options Mods Pak for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion 1.84 (or later) is now on Mod DB. In addition to the original contents of the mod pack, I have decided to put all my other minimods into the pack, instead of migrating each of them to Mod DB separately. Tri
