I can't decide who's worse....fanboys or trolls.....

The only reason this game is even on my radar is cause until it's DONE, Ironclad is prevented from moving on to SOASE 2.
Still don't understand the point of charging for access for a ftp game. Maybe if it was ftp from the start it would have a higher player base. And that "if they are willing to pay for access they must be dedicated"(to test) reasoning is pure BS. Dedicated players flock to games that they like. I wonder why Stardock did not publish this game, as they had a long working relationship with Ironcl
Just by chance Skyrim is 75% off this weekend? $4.99 That's Steam pushing the paid mods.
Steam went from a cool new way to get games to becoming a behemoth that publishers and developers have to bow down to in order to get their games seen. With the recent revelation that PAID mods will now come under their umbrella, it really should be looked into whether the have become to big to take on. I have 60 games tied to Steam and have been a member for 10 years, so I'm part of the problem lol and I know the sales are wonderful but sometimes self interests are not fo

When is a FTP game not a FTP game? When you charge for early access for a 5 year in development game ... Their are up to update 38 and still charging for a SOON (lol) to be released free game. What incentive do they have to ever release it? Recent gaming economics are a joke. Companies used to release a demo for free and if you liked it you bought the final product..now they just string you along
The more I think of it the title should have been will VALVE kill PC GAMING AS WE KNOW IT? Moving from the desktop with their BIG picture mode to the livingroom is all about money after they made billions from us early adapter PC hardcore gamers. To be considered a PC game M/KB controls should be first and foremost.
Should elaborate.... not kill PC games but monopolize the way we play them. Controllers vs KB/M TV across the room vs monitors in your face.
Steam started out as a cool new way to buy PC games...the Steam sales are great. BUT... with Steam getting into the hardware side of it, I see a problem. Their machines are made to play with a controller and with their big picture mode, they are trying to have their cake and eat it too. People will one day not be playing PC games with their desktop, but on their fat asses on the couch. This leads to a change in gaming with less intricate games(whos going to rea
Pillars of Eternity has sparked my interest and might be my first crowd funded game, though I wasn't a backer. Still holding out on DAI till they fix PC controls...
Someone else leery of unlimited crowd funding........ http://www.tentonhammer.com/editorial/stop-funding-star-citizen
I thought you said you didn't have lots of time ..........
Thanks. Informative, condensing , defensive, and name dropping all in one reply.... But don't tell me to "withhold my thoughts" on a public forum.
To me.....and I have been watching from afar.. it seems this game is exactly what it is ....a bunch of modules that have no center, nothing to connect the dots. Who am I ? Who's the bad guys? Is there a story? Is there a end? Or is it a money machine for people to collect ships and kill boards..... People WANTED a new WC and I don't see anything that makes it one........
As soon as I hear MMO, MULTIPLAYER I set my wallet to off. Witcher 1 I played and liked ...but Gerlat is a bit droul? No sense of humor ..bland character in my book. Witcher 2 never finished as soon as I hit the QTE's. The TellTale games are great interactive movies...loved TWD and even liked Wolf AU. But they're not games. Most real story driven RPG's seem today to be crowd funded using 20 year old Diablo type graphics with no voice.. ...wo
God I miss the days of 200 page PC gamer with loads of upcoming games, that were published, not crowd funded or paid demos(I mean Early Access).
Will the squadron 42 part be story driven with WC type cut scenes between battles? Or is it just going to be a MP with a kill board total? With all the money this game has gotten it should be finished by now....I'm thinking they are trying to do TO MUCH. No way I'm giving a dime to walk around a hanger or arena type dogfights with no story/ purpose.... I bet Chris Roberts bought himself a nice chair to sit in on your dime. I'll wait five years
Looks like Total Annilation ..... Twitchy to fast...clickfest? Just cause you can put thousands of units on screen doesn't make it a better game. Would prefer a small scale strategic battle with units you get to know, not expendable units to make fancy booms. Thousands of units might be impressive selling point but looks ridiculous to this older gamers eyes.....
Anyone know any good storied Dragon Age/Mass Effect type games coming out from the major studios this year?
This game seems like Sins with all the good stuff taken out....
An annual feature every winter ..... "what happen to global warming?" statements....
If early access was a tiny portion of the market that's fine, but it has taken over (along with FTP) .... Sins of a Dark Age is at update 32 ... 32! ... you could go through multiple PC'S BEFORE THIS GAME COMES OUT....
