Just to make sure I did not do anything wrong, this what I just did today. 1. Ran Purge MP-New bat file as administrator on the Secondary PC (Dell desktop) 2. Rebooted secondary PC. 3. Installed MPPortFix bat file as administrator on secondary PC. 4. Installed Multiplicity 3.57 on secondary PC and set it up as secondary PC. 5. Ran Purge MP-New bat file as administrator on primary Alienware laptop. 6. Rebooted primary PC. 7
I have already done this step as it was outlined in an email sent to me previously from Stardock support.. I used it to uninstall and purge and then downloaded a current version. If Stardock is interested and wants to, I would be glad to trace the events with Stardock tracing software leading up to a successful connection and copy/paste and then unsuccessful connection and copy/paste.
I forgot to mention that I used the MPPortFix zip file to make sure that the Windows 10 Pro firewall was updated correctly. As I said, I do not know why Multiplicty is not working when I need to use it, but It only works sometimes, in connections and copy/paste. I am interested in making Multiplicity work because I like the Multiplicity interface better than VNC. All the other Stardock products that I use are working with my complete satisfaction.
I have been testing Multiplicity for almost 30 days. I had trouble when I first started testing but was helped by the support from the Stardock Forum. I have always used the KVM mode of Multiplicity because the other mode does not work at all. At first I had trouble with Copy/Paste, then I was able to fix it with help from the Stardock Forum. I think that I found out what the problem was. There was an outstanding Windows 10 Pro update request for restarting the primary and secondary computers. After I restarted both computers (primary and secondary) the problem disappeared. I have experienced this before on other software after a Window update request for restart. This might be needed to be sent to your support staff too. They may know of this happening before. Thanks for your help.

Can connect to another computer using KVM but cannot start/open programs by double clicking on the ICON shortcut on Secondary computer desktop. It works now. Here is what I did to make it work. I executed the Purge and Reinstall. I then downloaded the latest version of Multiplicity on both Primary and Secondary computers. I installed Multiplicity on the Secondary computer first and then the Primary computer. I then chose to always connect with KVM mode. I then changed the advanced settings to always use IP address when connecting to secondary computer. After all these steps I tested copy/paste and it worked. Thank you for your help a
I forgot to mention that I have defined the inbound and outbound windows firewall rules as outlined in the youtube videos and other posts online about multiplicity.
The copy/paste function between the primary and secondary computers using KVM connection was working. Today, it (the copy/paste) function does not work. I used the IP address to identify the computers. I have the same version of Multiplicity (the latest) on the two computers. I read that using the IP address would help the copy/paste to work. Am I overlooking something?
I just tested the newest version of Multiplicity in KVM mode, and when I disconnect, it is no longer slowing down the secondary computer. I must have had two different versions of Multiplicity. One version on the primary computer and another version of the secondary computer. I am using Multiplicity in KVM mode on the primary computer. Jim
The Multiplicity connection makes the secondary computer slower even when Multiplicity is closed (from the sidebar). Multiplicity stayed in the hidden taskbar when I closed the sidebar window when using KVM mode. So I had to unload Multiplicity using the hidden taskbar. No I do not have a Seamless connection to the same computer. When I unload and then make sure that Multiplicity is not running in the background using Taskmaster, the computer is not slower. When I use the unload from remote (secondary) connection on Multiplicity (on primary), it is still active, the cursor still moves on the remote connection from the primary computer and the remote (secondary) connection is very slow even if unloaded from the primary. So I know that it is still active even though I unload from the remote (secondary) connection from the primary computer.
