I had the public version of IconPackager but upgraded to the reg. version, and was wondering why it was both time limited AND crippled? Imo one or the other would be sufficient. Especially the time limit. That's why *I* registered.

I finally made the jump to XP Pro and what I have always done is go and uninstall or delete various programs that I KNOW I won't be using--this goes back to the days of small hard drives. Anyways I found that whenever I tried to remove a program XP would give me a message indicating that someone else was using that prog and reinstall it. I wanna remove Messenger, Outlook, Movie Maker and a few others. Any one have some tip, ideas, suggestions for me. Thanks in advance. <img s

Well! Now that's a real surprise, becuase I was sure that someone was going to show me that there're actually are more people using 1280 reso'!!! I can understand that at the higher reso's you can put more info on the screen, but wouldn't it make sense to theme more towards the more popular size? And commenting on #2 I have yet to see a theme beyond a fairly simple one that was resolution independent. Yet I keep hearing that that is the way that themes should be. Is it reall

In looking at DX Themes I have noticed that *most* themes are for reso's of 1280+ and the authors generally say that the only ones using 1024 are people with 15" monitors or laptops. So, my question is: Of the people using DX Themes, which is the greater number, 1024 or 1280? Has there already been a poll done on this and what was the result. If not, could that be considered for a future poll. Sign me 'Just Curious' <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/lol.gif

I'm beginning to see there's more to this than just putting together some graphic files and calling it a skin. There needs to be some forethought and planning. This may take longer than i expected. O.k., from start to finish, how long does it take to build a skin? And before I forget, MikeB,

The marathon thread is self contained. Instead of starting 20 billion threads about stupid topics, we keep to one. quote] I have a question, I just started a thead about chocolate (yeah, i'm responsible), but it is in the general discussion group and I have noted a lighter, more relaxed attitude in that group. However, i would like to know if I am out of line in posting such a thread. Don't wanna do anything out of line. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.gif" b

I (back in my younger days) once ate a 2lb bags of chocolate chips during a weekend monster movie marathon. So as you might guess I was sick beyond belief for about 2 days. What's worse my mom showed no sympathy for me.

If God made every species on earth, why didn't he make them all reproduce the same way? Simple, he likes variety. that's why you find different type of flowers, variations in the big cats: Lions, Tigers, Jaguars, and your common house cat. Same type, just a little variation. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.gif" borde

jafo, "Ah...hope abandoned you, I'm afraid..... To amend that analogy slightly.....what if instead of a cement mixer you had a dozen mindless robots and an eternity to 'fiddle' with potential ways to add one component to another.......eventually, sooner or later, all the right bits would be in the right places....and you'd have an accurate definition of 'evolution', [whereas 'God' could just be the the guy who kicks all the junk into the corner, says 'stuff it' and goes watch

I just jumped in on this. I have held off looking into this thread as it is one that can be very touchy with some people. However, I want to provide a....viewpoint based on faith yet supported by some good old common sense. Aleatoric, you gave a general outline of evolutionary theory; but think about it this way: If you take all the parts to assemble a cutting edge computer, put them in a cement mixer, turn it on and let it run for a billion years, will you have a cutting edge comput

Now this has proved surprising! I assumed responses to this questioned would have revealed a...hmmm...less chronologically mature group of people. [Words chosen in case some were sensitive about their years. ] Just goes to show that true community knows no age group
