The GOP is having a feild day with this... they are calling it 'The Barackopolis' and have issued a list of appropriate togas to wear. This reminds me of going to the store and finding a product in a flashy new package which costs more and yeilds half as much as it used to.
I didn't realize it at first until Britt Hume commented on it, but he was right that there was no vouching for Barack on a personal level. Clinton simply endorsed a checklist of policy with no mentions of humanity, courage, or any other attributes and qualities that she saw in him or thought qualified him. It was cold and clinical at best.

I thought that McCain would pick Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, but after Obama insanely picked Joe Biden, a move which insults the Clintons and dramatically undermines a message of change, I think Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin moves to the top of the list. A woman like Palin could woo Hilary supporters and turn the tide toward McCain.

I don't think that Putin would have attacked Georgia if it were a NATO member. Just look at Kosovo as the model. When Kosovo unilaterally declared independence, (something I didn't agree with), it infuriated Putin, but there was no invasion or occupation. If Putin sent his tanks into Pristina, they would have found themselves in direct confrontation with KFOR. So Putin didn't seem to want that kind of war, at least for now, he'd rather crush a tiny neighbor.
