AMD/ATI has dropped support for your card (and lots of others) from their current drivers. The last Catalyst version that is likely to work for you is 9.3.1. Their site has a link to their "older" drivers. Use that link. This will work if you're running Vista or XP. If you're running Windows 7, there are NO drivers for your card (and the other legacy cards as well). You will have to install the Vista drivers in compatibility mode.
Your problem is unrelated to the score of 1.0. Obviously with such a score you will not get semi transparency effects, but WB itself should run fine.
That was my presumption as well ... but replies from others indicated that the low score was the problem. Refreshed my Windows Experience Index. In Seven, the path is Control Panel --> Performance Information and Tools --> Re-run the assessment. Got the same scores as before, as follows: - Processor: 3.3 - Memory (RAM): 4.4 - Graphiucs: 1.9 - Gaming graphics: 1.0 - Primary hard disk: 5.4 Base score is 1.0. As I said already, this chipset does NOT support AERO. And, before anyone asks, yes, I am running the very latest Windo

Mirsguy: Skins are in the folder you mentioned -- including the Windows 7 ones I downloaded from the links. I've installed WB 7 through Impulse (didn't know there was any other way) five times now. Philly0381: Rebooting every time. Not running a registry clean program -- and not going to. Have seen too many cases where the OS is rendered unusable afterward. Noticed that again, Impulse installed BOTH WB 6 and WB 7 even though I asked it to install

Thanks for the help folks, but basically, NOTHING WORKS! I've downloaded the WB 7 skins from the links, installed them all, and the results I get are as follows: 1) Skins show up as "unknown" in the config panel 2) Selecting a skin shows nothing in the view panel 3) Installing the skin relegates me to Windows Classic -- with no visual effects. Plus after than, the functions in the config panel don't seem to work anymore. Selecting a skin, choosing apply accompl

Lantec: Should have mentioned that there were no skins on the PC when I installed WB 7, so when I did the Rebuild List, there were no skins for it to find and add to the list. However, after I downloaded and installed a skin, and did the Rebuild List, it still did not show any skins. Wizard1956: Thanks for the links. So, does this mean that current skins (i.e., ones written for WB 6) are NOT compatible with WB 7? That could explain wh

I just extended my OD subscription, entirely to be able to get the WB 7 beta. I have an old tablet PC, using an Intel 915GM chipset -- which does not support Aero. I've been running WB 6 on this box under Vista since it came out and have been happy with the results. This morning, I installed impulse and then installed WB 7, but when it runs, there are no skins to choose from. So, I dowloaded one at random from the site, and installed it. But, it did not show up

Island Dog: I use ATI Home 11 to make backups of my Vista system, too, so I'm curious about your corruption problem. You said you tried to restore from an external drive, right? Did you create the backup on that drive originally? Or, did you create the backup on a different drive and then copy/move it to the external drive? I'm asking because I've read posts on the Wilders Security Acronis forum from folks that said doing backups directly to an external drive bypasses error

OK - this just gets more weird! Noticed that the Start panel was also being rendered in Windows Classic. Laptop went into hibernate. When I brought it back, it refreshed the display. Now, the Start Panel is rendered using the theme, as is the Windows Explorer window and other third-party tool windows. So, this "dropping into Windows Classic mode" is something that comes and goes dynamically. I hope someone from Development is reading this.

Me, too. Using a Fujitsu tablet PC, running Vista Business 32-bit, and the latest WB (just checked it yesterday). Have noticed that some of the window frames, and now, even the task bar, are rendered using Windows Classic -- regardless of which skin I choose. Thought it was my machine but reading this thread, see it's affecting others as well.

Are you using the latest updates for PSP from Corel? The current PSP Photo is X1 version 11.20. I remember hearing about problems with version X and Vista -- but I'm not sure about that. I'm using PSP Photo XI, Vista Ultimate 32-bit and WB 5.5 without any problems at all.

Am using Vista 32-bit on a non-Aero laptop (Intel 915 chipset) and am stuck with the Windows Vista Basic GUI. I'd like something better and am interested in using WindowBlinds (already use it on my home Vista machine) but notice that the trial version doesn't support Vista. So, am I stuck paying $50 for something that might not work? Or is WindowBlinds already known not to work in non-Aero environments? Also, would like to get Vista version of the Logon changer, but it

Am running WB 5.5 on Vista Ultimate 32-bit and Catalyst 7.2 on an X1600 pro. Not having any problems at all. So, it's not just the combination of Vista 32-bit, WB 5.5, and Catalyst 7.2. Did notice that the Colony skin, which I was using initially, had some problems. Switched to Copper Deck II and have no problems at all. Would hate to think that your problems are video-card specific and/or skin specific. But, stranger things have happened with Vista.

Don't understand the rave reviews on this site. Have sampled several of these drivers and have yet to find even ONE that is current! For example, the ATI driver link points to the old Beta version. A link to an Intel Wireless Pro driver is older than the one at the Intel site, plus, it's for Dell computers, not a generic driver. A link to C-media drivers for "Vista" is actually a link to a 2003 vintage driver; the c-media site (last I checked) did not have, and was not going to have, Vista dr

I used a tool called Resource Hacker in XP to hand-build login screens. So, can the same tool be used to extract the graphics from XP logon studio files to produce wallpaper for LogonStudio Vista? If not, is there another tool that can be used?

My Vista experience with WindowBlinds wasn't so positive. I installed my favorite theme Colony and noticed that it was unable to handle Start button right-clicks. Any right-click on that area was treated as if it was on the taskbar instead. This is a royal pain because that makes it hard to open windows explorer from the start button. The theme also wasn't drawing the top border of the taskbar properly. I restored the Vista theme and am waiting for WB 5.5 final to come out. Perhaps

Also have no sympathy for Nvidia. They posted wording on their website long ago promising their customers that they would have Vista drivers available when Vista was released. They didn't say "soon after" and they didn't say "when we let everyone know"; they said when Vista was released. Not only does their delay affect video drivers, it also affects platforms that use Nvidia chipsets (i.e., nforce3, 4, etc). Nvidia didn't even post any RTM drivers; they've posted nothing since RC1.

Y M: I've seen posts in other forums about this Basic-to-Aero conversion and they indicate that loading WDDM (Aero) drivers has to be done during this process. Since I'm stuck with a tablet PC that runs the Intel 915 chipset, I'm not going to be able to get Aero drivers. Intel has already indicated that they have no plans to produce any. So, were you able to do this conversion without loading Aero drivers? Are you by any chance using the Intel 915 chipset? If so, h
