I'm not even getting the option to send my games to the Metaverse. In other threads people told me that after you hit the Done button you're supposed to be prompted to send your score in but my game always goes back to the main menu. I've downloaded all the patches but nothing works. Can you only send in scores from specific levels of difficulty? I also have a dialup connection. Is it not prompting me because I'm not connected?

I've seen people saying they hit a submit button. I've finished three games and have yet to see that. Can anyone tell me where it is? When my game ends it runs through the point totals and my only option is to hit Done. On the menu screen I clikc Metaverse and all it does is take me to the webpage. What am I doing wrong?!? :sniff!:

How do I load my game score to the metaverse? After finishing my game, I was dropped to the main menu. From there I selected metaverse, created my account, and (I think) loaded my game data. I'm not seeing it up there, though. Are our game scores different than scoring on the Metaverse? I played a 2000 point game but it was at beginner level if that matters. I'm I even uploading my score correctly?

I've been working on improving relations with the Altarians. We have warm relations and I wanted to improve them. I dumped every tech, ship, and trade good on them and asked nothing in return. This included the Alliance technology. Not only did my relations not improve but the Altarians used the Alliance tech I gave them to form an alliance with the Torians. It seems like the only thing that improves my relations with the Altarians is choosing the good side of random events. Is this the only way

Mine does it, too, but it will do it anywhere in the Foreign Policy module. A couple in particular with mine are trading with the Drengin and then hitting the Leave button and pulling reports on other civs. I have a save game, too if you want it. When I get home later today I'll try to post the debug.err log here.

I have both games and like them both. There's just a more personable feel to GalCiv. I feel like my choices truly make a difference. It plays differently and requires a bit of a different mindset than MOO3 but I enjoy the challenge. I won't tell you to get it, because I'm sure you were burned on MOO3, but you should definitely check it out. It's one of my favorite games.

I love it. It's unlike any game I've ever played. The interface is intuitive, the detail is great without being overwhelming, and it's challenging. The AI actually anticipates your moves and there's no cheat path that guarantees victory every time you play. I've played three games and have yet to win and I can't put it down. I think that's the true testament to the game's playability; I love it even when I lose. Embarassingly. On tutorial level. LOL

In addition to the crashes, I was also getting the same event over and over again concerning the soldier elixir that halves their lifes. If memory serves, I got it five times in seven turns.

I'm having a problem with diplomacy. I'll check the stats of a race, try to leave the contact screen, etc., and my game will crash to the desktop. This has happened three times this game and it's killing me. :p I have a PIII 450MHz, 256MB RAM, NVIDIA 128MB video running Windows 2000. I didn't upgrade directx to 9; I'm currently using 8.1 or 2. Everything else appears to be running fine.

I've been trying to de-lurk for weeks but my ID was jammed and nothing else seemed to work. Then, miraculously, I received confirmation that my lurk had dropped and I was prepared to attack the boards. ;)

You know what's sad is ONEONEONE had to have an email account to obtain a login in his (or her) quest for a serial crack. Maybe one of the SD team can accidentally post his email address here... :D

MasterMoO, if you're the Network Admin, can't you make the arguement to your superiors that it's necessary to evaluate new software in order to keep your company competitive? That's how I ended up with four PCs running different OSes. Just throw out a bunch of acronyms like ROI and CRM and see what happens. I even have a 120 day eval copy of W2K laying around if you want it.
