I'm on my way to the Red Cross to donate blood. I donate four to five times a year and I always feel special when I do. Usually I take my daughter Lauren (age 9) with me. She keeps me company and always asks when she will be old enough to give. It gives me a good feeling to do this. I am a member of several communities, online and otherwise. When a person joins a community, that person makes a contract. They agree to accept certain responsibilities in exchange for benefits. Often those responsibilities include a code of conduct. The reason that this transaction makes sense is that the community is bigger than the individual. The narcissist wants the benefits without the responsibility. They are more important than the community, in their view.
