Ive got corkys setup, 'cept 1gig of DDR2, 3.4ghz P4, and a 6800GT gfx card. Its rather disapointing that Longhorn wont be able to run in its 'full glory' on this^ setup, if the rumors are to be believed. (which I would question) Hard to imagine something (videogames not included) that is so graphically intensive as to require that much pixel-pushing power...It sounds pretty rediculous to me. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/sm

Ok... I have an old-ish Dell Inspiron 2500...my little brother was playing 'runescape' and it froze then gave a BSOD... Now, I cannot boot into windows anymore. What will happen is this: Turn on computer> Shows 'dell' setup screen> Gives a black screen saying 'operating system not found.' If I leave the computer unplugged for a period of time (10 mins or so) It will show the XP bootscreen for 5-10 seconds, then Ill

Aye, Hotmail gives 250mb of storage. Id have already completely switched to Gmail if Microsoft hadnt added that extra space. Its not nearly as much as space as Gmail, to be sure, but Its currently more than I need, and space is no longer an issue. What bothers me though is that it shows that before Gmail came along, Microsoft could easily get away with a measly 2mb of space. <img src="http://images3.stardock.com/wc/smiles/H

I agree with Zoomba's point on units being obscured, so it'll be interesting to see how that's handled. Units behind buildings will be visible as a colored outline, just as has been done in previous 'Age' games. Stubby: 360 degree camera rotation was implemented in Age of Mythology, so I ex

Ive got a 6800 GT... Kicks arse. Really, ATi and nVidia are so close in quality and price that its hard to say which is 'better.' ATi currently has the single most powerful card out, the X850 XT, but nVidia's higher-end cards (6600GT, 6800GT and 6800U) support SLI, which can push the horsepower above and beyond anything their red competitor has to of

Guru of 3d did a review of an Athlon64 4000+ versus the new Intel 64 bit processors. http://www.guru3d.com/article/processor/193/1/ I realize that might be out of the price range, but it is a very interesting read nonetheless.

Ditch the X850 in favor of a dual 6800GT SLI setup. Or rather dont. If youre not into gaming, why not save some $$ and downgrade to like a X700 Pro? (around $200 USD) Remember, top 'o the liners (especially video cards) 'depreciate' very quickly.

Well, IE7 won't blow FF out of the water. I think it was more an 'I hope' rather than an 'I think it will happen.' Ill stick with IE...No problems with spyware etc. here...Then again, I know how to browse safely. <img src="http://images3.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddl

Ill cast my vote for 'Dell.' We have a 3yr old laptop, and a two month old Desktop from them...neither have given any problems. Id recommend staying away from HP/Compaq and eMachines...

Computer probably takes up the most of my time, but I do get up from my chair (on occasion) to engage in other activites...like.. Piano... Been taking for 6 1/2 years, no end in sight. Soccer/ice skating...provide excercise, and are more fun than running on a treadmill. I keep a black widow in my room, (in a jar of course) sort of a semi-dangerous 'pe
