OK you got me beat BUT let me point out the following: I am using a Duron processor, not a Athlon XP, and i only have 128 megs of DDR memory. I have been ruuning that program and it is 8 % done at 1 hour and 27 minutes. I'm pretty sure if I had the Athlon XP 3000 w/barton and 512 DDR memory I would be able to beat ya.

The worst thing I ever heard was Backstreet boys, nsync, britney spears, christine aguliria (spelling) and any other boy and girl bands. Oh yeah and rap.. anybody can take a lyric, make it ryhme, and turn on the keyboard for the music to go with it. that's not talent. talent is playing all the drums, guitars and such and singing. don't get me started on Aqua

SiSandra and a host of other well known benchmarking applications will confirm that this new AMD will run 117% faster and better than the P4 at 3.06 ghz. And they are cheaper to.

In response to Fuzzy logic: yes there is a new AMD chip that will do what you are doing with the p4 but even faster. It is called the AMD Athlon 3000+ with Barton core. This new AMD chip runs at 2.2 Ghz but performs as if at 3.5 Ghz. This chip will run circles around a P4 and give the wimpy Intel chip a wedggie and a slap in the face. Check it out at www.amd.com

Thanks. Any thoughts about what I said about upgrading? The board I have can use SDRAM and DDR RAM without changing anything.

Actually you caught my intrest. How would I make my friends p2 450 system run that fast? And I think even the Durons run at 133 so your right. But you have to admit AMD is cool. And cheaper. How soon until your a dad?

And just for something to think about check this out: I ran SiSandra on my chip and came up with this: AMD Athlon Xp 2200+ 1.8GHz Dhrystone ALU 5007 Whetstone FPU 2505 As compared to a Pentium 4 2.6 GHZ: Dhrystone ALU 4904 Whetstone FPU: 1385 So as we see, a AMD Athlon XP running at 1.8 Ghz slaps the crap and gives a weggie to a P4 running over at 2 GHz.

usually mainboard don't run both AMD and intel, being that the two chips are different sizes and voltages. But you could go to outpost.com and check out the deals they have there. For $100 bucks you can get a good mainboard and a AMD 2400 chip. And if you put a AMD system of the SAME speed and configuration next to your system, SiSandra would confirm that the AMD system blows Intel out of the water.
