Would have liked to come but it's some too many 1,000s of km away ... Did someone gets some shots of the [e digicons]5*[/e] Elf there ? [e digicons]B)[/e]

Thanks for the clarification. So now with you .exe, there's no more unfixed (known) bugs ? Actually I do use goods search filter (just not to clutter the lists with low-value stuff) !
If your exe fixes more than the update, so the Impulse update is useless ?
Sure bman, already did that ! [e digicons]^_^[/e] to TGN team : It'll be cool t have the posts with the fixed exe pinned because they're rather hard to find.
I've just bought SR2R form Impulse- Installed over the English DVD SR2 version successfully. But now Impulse "suggests" me to upgrade SR2 (original, that I didn't even buy at Stardock's) to 1.3003 instead of 1.30 ! I don't think it's a good idea, as AFAIK SR2R replaces SR2 completely (ie you can't play SR2 "alone" anymore, the .exe and other files are overwritten). So I think Impulse should forget about SR2 updates for SR2R owners, or manage SR2R as the more recent SR2 "update
Good news ! I was offered the game, and it installed and works without any problem over my English version SR2 ! I just had to select the SR2 folder when installing, the Impulse setup program didn't find it alone. I also was able to dump my no-cd version, as thanks Stardock, t here's no more nasty DRM ! [e digicons]O
Hmm, I was happy but now, Caprion, you make me wonder...What SR2 version do you have exactly ?
Cool ! But but .. how exactly can I be offered a downloaded game ? Is there some "gift" option available to the buyer so I can download myself, or has the buyer to burn be a CD ?? I suppose/hope there's still no crappy DRM things on Impulse (I didn't use it yet), so maybe it's not a big problem ? Please advise !
Why did you stop buying, if Impulse let you do ? [e digicons]*_*[/e]
I'm in France, so I did get the English DVD version of SR2. Now I'd like to get the expansion - well, as I cannot buy it I'll have it offered by an US friend - but I'm not sure it's compatible. My DVD of SR2 has StarFarce protection (won't talk about nocd, no I won't), so I'm rather wary... Did someone here successfully installed SR2:R over English version ? Thanks !
Well, I only play with Tech Trade Off since it's possible. Insta-selling of any tech to anyone is just immensely abusable and "unrealistic" (as in "nonsense" : imagine how we would "sell" nuclear plants tech to a Neanderthalian-level culture). As long as it won't be possible to limit it severely - no trading of race techs, no trading above something researchable by the "buyer", selling giving only part of the tech (RPs) and not 100%, etc - I don't think I'll turn it on again. [quote] Well, I didn't even see the new screen, but anyway, rather than a new screen I would have liked to have a better/richer invasion combat game design... I mean, invasion is still "I put X million pop on transport ships and drop them fight your pop" ! No planetary defense, no soldiers, no planes/tanks/robots/whatever, it's an insect invasion game !! Since GC1 this feature is for me the poorest of the game and seriously ruin immersion...<br/

I also have huge probs with latest beta : in fact my whole PC freezes after playing like hmmm ... 30 seconds ! With the previous version I could play 1 hour and get a freeze, now 30 seconds is ... well unplayable ! Surely there is some hardware problem with my system (that doesn't crash with DA though). I have NO debug.err file created in TA dir so can't give any, and here is my DX diag report. Please someone, help ! ------------------ System Information --
The game *works* with Win98, I've played it with that config without any problem, and my (English release) game box indicates support of Win98 in "minimum" and "optimal" config, but not "recommended" one ... This release is the Excalibur-published one, a Starforced-DVD containing SR1 and 2, dunno if it's still available as it is a couple years old. I suspect the good solution would be to change the installer's check to allow Win98 for this one on TGN (even if now it's becoming quite
Good idea,... but in fact I *like* the bad English translation ! First I'm not a native speaker, and then when I play the game I imagine than in the game's future we'll all speak a "pidginized" english that would have some Russian bits in !
I've an old Athlon2400 w/1Gb RAM, and I upgraded some months ago to an already used GF6600GT. It was cheap (70 euro or so) at the time and should be even less now, and I've no prob at all with my games - GC2, but also Civ4 , and even Theater of War (but not full detail!). I recommend this one !
The best ones, I've passed hours on, and still do : - Dominions 2&3 - ahh this game is uncomparable to anything ! - Combat Mission series ! - Civ 1,2 and 4 (3 was so-so)- also mention to AC, which was brilliant - Baldur's Gate series; Calling this "hack& slash" means you didn't understand the concept - UFO 1 As for the worst, no need to lose time on it...
Huh, for me the 1.6 beta 4 just doesn't show up on SDC (and yes I have "pre release versions" checked since an eternity) . The latest DA version indicated is 1.59.095 - that's beta 3 - from May 10th .
Huh well sorry then... I was sure to have checked that my ships ingame did not have their attack values changed (and the last time I've checked they had 20+ attack). Surely I've checked wrongly, sorry !
Nullspace, I don't understand your reasoning : personnally, I *do* want to just make my economy run effectively, plain and simple !! What's bad about building factories and labs you can indeed use according to income? RL rather work like that, I don't see much of empty factories one week (guys went to the labs), and the reverse next week.. Plus it's not that obvious to just build what you need at any given time, because when a war breaks out or some event unfolds you would need to be abl
I'm playing the DA Drengin campaign, and my guys have a neat +40% "weapon bonus". Yet I can't find what its use ! In GC1 Weapon bonus was applied to ship's attack ,so a 20 attack ship with 40% bonus was 28 attack. In GC2 and DA, the weapons and ships always have the same stats whatever my weapons bonus. I didn't notice neither any advantage to weapon size, cost or research cost. So what's this bonus good for ?
Well, this system bothers me since GC1 days, and I really can't understand why it has not been changed : it's counterintuitive, convoluted and doesn't allow players to implement easily the production strategy they want ! Worse is that there would be a very simple and IMHO elegant solution : instead of one "Funding%" slider and 3 "mil/prod/res" coupled sliders, put : - One "Prod Fundin %" slider (expense vs max total possible factory prod) - One "Research Funding %" slider (same
Hmm, off my hat : 1/ In the planet screen, a button to just *shut down* production of any type (mil/prod/res), so I'm not ruined when I invade another race capitol (for example) 2/ Some more sensible management of population : currently, if I build farms for 24b people they soon become angry, when I destroy the farms and half of them die they're happy : don't you see a problem here ?
Hello I've played GC2 last year without any problem, put it aside some months ago, and just now rediscover DA. Yet I have many PC freezes with the game, I didni't have any before ! What happens is that if I lauch the game, load a save, and just leave the room 10 min or so, I find my screen all corrupted/garbled (with lines of random dots..) and the PC is frozen, hard reboot necessary. And when I play I have the same thing but it's rather random and happens after 1 hour, or 4 hours of
