Something has messed up, re-installing or installing full program updates to Adobe and Apple software often does this , the user accounts get mixed up somehow. With both these companies (and Quicken too) always right click installation files and Run as Administrator to avoid this. Try re-installing Adobe 9 by right clicking the install file and Run as Administrator - you should be able to selectively install or repair just the programme not behaving correctly.
