On the diplo screen, it should be possible to expand any one sub-part of the "We Have"/"They Have" bits. If I expand "Star Systems", for instance, that section would occupy the entire height, making it a lot easier to find the one I want. The expansions should be separate for the left part and right part so that I can expand Technology for me and Star Systems for them, for instance. ~SDC~

Whenever a planet or system is named, it should always be followed by the galactic coordinates of the sector it's in. Ditto for starbases. This would make decisions a little easier to make when cycling through planets at the start of each turn. ~SDC~

Posted this erroneously to the "UI Questions" thread. I'll repeat myself: On my "Domestic Policy/Stats/Economy" report it says "Tribute: 4294966899 bc/turn" which (1) isn't correct and (2) I'm certainly not actually getting In the "INCOME" portion of this, the right coloumn (the one with the numbers in it) is shifted down one notch wrt to the left coloumn (the one with the headers such as "Leases:" in it). This is because the abovementioned Tribute line has wrapped around and p

On the Foreign Policy/Stats screen for the Torian Federation it says (among other things) "Overall Ranking ... Overall: 3rd". If I then click along to my Domestic Policy/Stats screen it says (for my culture obviously) "Overall Ranking ... Overall: 3rd". I find it difficult to believe we're tied for third with all of the finely granulated stats that are being taken into consideration? ~SDC~

I can't help but spot loopholes whenever I read/use a set of rules. I'd like to know if the following would work, just to satisfy my curiousity. In order to become a saint after initially having been a bit too greedy in the "yay neat bonus kill'em off" department: There's a bunch of class 3 and 4 and what have you planets around. If I built a fleet of colony ships, put 1 mill people in each and went around colonizing these planets, would my always choosing the "Good" events I get on tho

After failing to properly DL the main game (the game works but SDC won't recognize that it's there, I posted about the problem earlier in the Bugs thread), I tried to DL&Archive the multimedia pack in the hope that I could force it to install itself. After a while (don't know how long, I left it on over night), I got a dialog box saying "There was an error installing Multimedia ... blabla". In case anyone cares, I have put the dialog on http://www.pvv.org/~bcd/SDCerror1.png Unfortunately, th

I think it may be that your entire _civ_ is evil, not just your leader. So, if the half billion people can't be bothered to be a little inconvenienced in order to not have to kill the natives, then they're an evil half billion people and bloody well deserve the GUI to match! :) ~SDC~

>Re. minimap on really big galaxies: the ability to zoom-out the main play window (turning it into a huge minimap). That way you could presumably get the entire galaxy in on a 200% zoom, showing starbases. The above seems to be amply covered by the Tactical map, so feel free to ignore :) ~SDC~

I see this same problem on my couple of years old IBM ThinkPad. I use a standard Windows cursor, probably a hardware cursor. I also see some distortion in the graphics surrounding the (invisible) cursor some times. It's suspiciously similar to a driver/hardware problem. ~SDC~

Trying to DL GC1.01 with SDC0.99c, SD Central crashed and burned late in the installation process (after showing an "install failed" message). The DL was complete, and it was trying to do the final install. Looking around my disk, I do now have a GalCiv I didn't have before (at C:\Programfiler\Drengin.net\galciv) and it seems to run fine. SD Central doesn't, however, realize that it's there and if I try to install again, it restarts the download process. I have put the gc1.log file (with one min

Re. refunds for overproduction: why can't the excess points just count towards my next project? Re. waypoints: yes, please.
