Up until recently, I was living in Los Angeles for a few years. I used to joke around that it was the biggest planned cannibal community in the US. 10 Million people living in a desert where they have to pump the water over a mountain is not my ideal place to be when "it" hits the fan. I don't really think we're in immediate danger from a group with the sophistication and resources to put a small nuke into the US upper atmosphere. It isn't the nuke so much as the roc
Oh, and I thought about it. To me, the team player is the guy who perfectly assimilates himself with his ally. They work together. Move together. Take advantage of merging two races tech's to make one UBER fleet. I like the way you put it when it comes to most DT's. We're cowboys who focus more on getting ourselves up and running into a wrecking ball instead of working with an ally to become a joint-wrecking ball. Also, do you think it'd be fair for me to write a review abou
He's kinda like JJ though. He'll take heat off you by drawing attention to himself (draws in the 2 or 3 v 1 situations), but in terms of feeding allies I haven't seen too much of that.
A 7 for Team Cooperation!!! The NERVE!!! J/K, it is probably fairly accurate. And I DO feed sometimes, but half the time it is a stopgap measure while I cut my way and open up a new front. It is very common for me to manage 2 or 3 fleets to both exp

Hmmm....my micro is only an 8 or a 9, I think. You have to judge the micro standard by JJ, because I know his micro is better than mine. Tyr's micro is probably better than mine. I'm not even sure if my team cooperation should be a 10? A lot of DT doesn't excel in this area because there are so many cowboys in the clan. Hilariously, my contributions to the team has traditionally been one of two roles: 1) I play whack a mole with my neighbors while m

Actually, carrier caps are pretty powerful when used properly. They are also situationally useful with some strategies and against some enemy fleet compositions. - They are strong early game when there is not much counter to strikecraft. However, they become marginalized by strikecraft counters like all carriers later in the game. - SOVA rushing on small maps hurts a lot. Not such a useful cap otherwise. - Halcyon has a couple awesome abiliti

Actually, Quickstart nerfs Vasari the most because in the old days Vasari could already have additional income from roids while people were still trying to afford their labs. Quickstart allows TEC and Advent to rapidly get their military or economic foundations up.

When you're best option as Vasari to counter a type of ship spam is to make flak (not scouts, too weak, not assailants=illum food, HC's too expensive early, LF's? LOL, fighte
1.03 a minor part fo the communaty was whining advent underpowered. Trust is they were far form underpowered people just hadn'T yet figure out the game and how to play with lums. So what happens is IC bostes Advent and over night the game become and advent only game. After that they ahve been nerfing advent over an dover still not realising they need to reutrn advent to 1.03 lvls. I know one dude in 1.03 with advent would take on 4 dude by him self and crush em. So I always wondered wh
Do what the Amish do. Give the kid a hoe or a rake and send it out to work in the field. Hell, I'd dress the kid up, send it out with one of my other 5-6 kids at ages 1-10 and use their cute faces to sell strawberries on the street corner. You think I'm joking? That's what we do! Hell, give that kid a whip to use on the horses. I don't know if 0 is completely fair. Part of the problem is they need to be a bit more careful about getting killed. I have seen some of the AI gods be totally reckless an
What if the smurf in question never started using the smurf name for pugs until it had a record indicative of skill? Joining a pug with a smurf name that has a record of, say, 45 games played, 35 wins seems much, much, much less smurfy than using a name with 2 games played 2 wins. For the record, I wouldn't join a game with a name that didn't indicate skill in some sort of a way. Also, I'm sometimes captain and when I'm not captain, I think I'm drafted at about the right spot, somet

You should get the demo. As has been mentioned, it is less complicated than Railroad Tycoon 3. If you want a more casual game with less depth, go for it. If you want the most detailed simulation, I would dig up a copy of RT3.

I haven't been able to play much. I try to hop on every few weeks to get a game in, but I have less time to play overall and Entrenchment games, on average, take a lot longer to play through. When I was on, I also noticed that my friend's list was fairly empty. I also noticed tons of people who I have never seen before saying "Hi Cykur, long time no see!" -- so I can only guess half of the active community is comprised of smurfs or people who have felt like they "outgrew"

It is kind of a tricky problem because if you make Assailants and Javelis much tougher or cheaper, they could become OP in some area where they are not fighting Illuminators. Also, nobody wants the ships to be carbon copies of each other. The problem is not necessarily about equality between a class of ships. It is about having viable counters at all stages of the game. Unfortunately, because Advent can effectively defend themselves from the counters, we get all this
I suggest you try one where you actually allow the Vasari to have the advatage of a closing fight. Giving the Advent the advantage right off the bat skews the test in their favour already. That's not something you want if you're trying to prove that they're overpowered.
If you want to see real overpowered, you should see what the test results would look like if the Illuminators were being actively micro'd to always be in motion so the Assailants or LRM's were constant
Azrak, it sounds like you should limit yourself to pug-only games that require players to have a minimum of 20 games player or some such.
Smurfing is the whole reason PUGs suck -- if you are a fan of PuGs, you would spend as much energy trying to stomp out Smurfing as you do promoting PuGS. The amount of played games is irrelevant because of how easily manipulated the numbers are -- being a well known player is the thing which matters.
Btw, Cykur: atm they have to delete/rename as well in order to play with a clan tag, so it wouldn't exactly be worse than it is now. If you want to keep your stats there's no way at the moment to change your name when you join a new clan.
Of course...you know, I wasn't arguing with you. I was just saying having 1 name might be a bit harsh. A good way to handle it would be to have your clan designation in a different field. That way your name wouldn't c
