You could always stay impirial and never lose the bonuses though. ~SDC~
Stregone
GalCiv runs at 1024x768, and nothing higher or lower, even when in a window. So running in window mode is only of use if your desktop resolution is greater than 1024x768. ~SDC~
Hmm, I added a comment to that first link, should have said that it may or may not work, due to my host being flaky right now, hence the angry face :P ~SDC~
Okay, you now have two more mirrors :) : http://www.stregone.net/galciv/ :( http://www.student.nvcc.vccs.edu/home/mappleman/galciv/ ~SDC~
Sounds like a band aid for the real issue. The game is supposed to be anti-micromanagement, but you end up having to micromanage something trivial as overpopulation. I think a better solution would be to setup 'spaceliner routes' with a new type of ship, just like you setup trade routes. And have these ships automaticaly balance the population between the two systems they travel between. ~SDC~
Whoah, this thread got big :P I haven't been able to load up your site. So if you could send me all the files (including the html page) and I'll just toss it all up on my server. ~SDC~
I like the 'These aren't the droids you are looking for' thing in the diplomacy screen :p ~SDC~
But whats the difference between manufacturing and production? ~SDC~
I can host it as well. [email protected] :) ~SDC~
How about a buncha of semi-expensive social projects that add a tiny bonus to various stats, have no maintenance, and you can build as many of them as you want. The high price and tiny bonus given would keep it from being unbalanced, and it would allow you to specialize a planet over a long period of time, and keep you from having an empty social project queue. ~SDC~
Both are very good games. If you don't like micromanaging at all, get GalCiv. ~SDC~
Space sharks are called "Rouge Creature". Which should be "Rogue Creature". ~SDC~
Grab the pdf version from javascouts's site. It will automaticaly print on 3 sheets for you. Just do a little cutting and taping to stick it together. ~SDC~
Nope, it is only at 1024x768. ~SDC~
If you can't destabilize them, can you culturaly overwhelm them? Or do even good (as opposed to evil) players have to invade minor races to take them over? ~SDC~
Do you need any particular ports open for it to work? ~SDC~
Definitly. On gigantic maps holding half a dozen scout ships' hands walking them across the galaxy gets pretty annoying. ~SDC~
The us army could use a couple of these :)
I have been wondering all of that as well. Exactly what do all of these atributes do?
