nice thing is, im not stuck in only 1 square, i spread over almost all the top part now, when i have time, ill start putting them around the drengin and yor, take their ressources, piss them off a little more :P they are so mad at me, the wont even trade ONE technology for the rest of mine(over 20 :P) its pretty funny :D

ok, ive heard of ppl protecting their planets with freighters once the UP passes the law protecting them, i took it to another level... i started top left, yor under me, drengin under them, torians top right, and the other got killed before i found them by the yor and drengin... (large map btw) im going for the tech victory, the UP passes that law, i fill the borders with freighters(one per square in a straight line) and protect my WHOLE empire, so i spend NO money on military at all, except

bravery increases the strenght that your troops defend your planets, im not 100% sure, but i also think they help when you attack too...

a play list is a list of mp3s you want to listen to while playing, instead of the galciv music... just put the mp3s you want in the playlist folder....

not a bad idea, i wonder why i didnt think about it... last game i played i ended up around 40k money, and bought all the tech i could,(i was stuck in a corner with 5 planets only... good thing i had good relations LOL ) and had 20k left and i couldnt do anything with it lol next time you can bet ill buy those starbases ;)

what level? if your playing above "inteligent" level, they do get a bonus(not sure what), under that they start just like you... what the AI does, and what you need to learn to do, is play with the sliders, research, social, and military, along with taxes and spending... i usually get my taxes to around 79% in the begginning, with maxed spending, and around 60% military for colony ship rush, then 60% tech.

nope, in a game i played this morning, the 3 alexians sector defected to me in the first 5 turns... i was going for cultural victory, so my settings were customized for that :) unfortunetly, for my survival i had to ally with the drengin, and later with the altarians, so i won by alliance instead...

i suggest trying an easier level, find a strat you think will work, then try again :) otherwise its kinda ruining the whole game if anyone tells you how to win at that level...

i bought galciv 3 weeks ago, on the net, and i ordered the one where they send you the cd, but i still havent gotten it yet.... i dowloaded the game from the net, but i still want the cd i paid for :) im in canada, so shipping shouldnt take 3 weeks, not like if i was living on the easter island in the middle of the pacific :p

i was lucky one game, i got 100(!!!!!) precursor corvettes, when the dreghnin declared on me cause i refused to give them money(had only 11k in bank :P) i had trouble with them, but then the altarians decalred on me cause we were at war with their ally the dregnin... 5 turns later, the precursors came out, they had one of their rangers in my sector, killing and destoying... i was so glad to get those 100 corvettes to help me fight a 3 front war lol i conquered an altarian planet, got peace fr

Cheap way to AVOID the dreadlords.... (precursors) in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

easy i found to avoid being killed by them... i got crushed the first time, second time, when they hint on who is looking for the orb, just use espionage on the civilization looking for it,(i put it halfway, its quicker) and when u get to advanced, keep it there... when they DO find it, your operatives will stp them :)
