i just tried the SEV demo... i HATED it... the look and feel is so... 10 years ago. i didn't even finish reading the tutorial...

Frogboy, i love how DA looks, but i have one thing to say PLEASE, allow planetery bombardment! it's the #1 thing i'm looking for
boy, if this game had multiplayer, you guys would just die against me. theres something to be said about covering your @ss... and covering both cheeks seperately, doubling your chances. why have orbital fleets strong enough to take out an enemy fleet? Because i already have enough fleets to wipe them off the face of the galaxy, but i'd also like to cover my @ss in case they slip one by. I always KNOW even if a fleet slips by, they can't harm me. like i said, attacking me in my own
UMmm Orbital fleet manager is handy if you want MORE THAN ONE SHIP AT A TIME defending your world against a FLEET of enemy ships. that way you can actually WIN the battle. I Don't know about you people, but i don't leave any of my planets without a defensive fleet that i'm confident can cut through at least one enemy fleet. Each defense fleet usually contains at least 3 corvettes, 2 destroyers, and 2 battlecruisers. And typically i build military starbases throughout my
anyone know what file the tech rate definitions are in? I.E. where "Fast, Very Fast, Normal, Slow, Very Slow" are defined?
i've modded Advanced starports to work properly. they're just tricky. All the coding is actually there, you just have to know where to look
Expect details to come up in the next few days/weeks. I'm sure everyone here will be pretty pleased Great! I've been keeping an eye on the game for a few months now, it looks like it could be an awesome game. Stardock's involvement can only make thin
Hmmm, i wonder if the project was getting off track and stardock was called in to get things back on schedule? Any idea on a release date? I doubt it's still 2006...
So really the first question is - would users be willing to wait until AFTER Christmas for an expansion pack if it had more features? Or would they prefer the original expansion pack concept? OR would they be okay with the expansion pack after Christmas as long as there was a beta program for those who pre-ordered it before Christmas? I
Right, exactly, i meant i'd have to change them in the savegame file; which i DO know how to do. Anyways, that's what i ended up doing, changing the research output of the research improvements... Kindof a roundabout way of doing things... Wish i could have identified that research multiplier, but oh well, this gives me near the same results.
well what are my other options? I wanna slow the game down, but it's not worth changing the tech cost of every remaining tech in the xml file. I suppose i could cut the amount of tech points research improvements generate? Any other way i could acheive the effect?
any particular reason?
I guess this one is mainly for the Devs, or those familiar with the savegame format. I'm currently in a game i want to extend and drag out longer, but i only selected slow tech rate when i started the game. I'd like to drag it out more by changed it to very slow, so my question is: Is there any way to do that in the savegame files? Is there a specific point in the file i can edit (Hex edit) to change the tech rate multiplier?
no it's not, her voice is similar to the voice in the intro, but listening to the intro and a quick TNG episode on DVD i come to the conclusion, nah, not the same person.
i think he meant will DA come with the latest patches for GC2. Which i would assume the answer would be yes. But unless you plan to do a fresh install of GC2 for DA (which is probably a good idea anyway) i don't know why you would need the patches from a DA installer, they're online right now (unless u have dial up and don't want to redownload them for your fresh install of DA). As already stated, patche versions = good, retail versions = bad.
obviously i meant november
thanks for the info . So does october mean A. October 1st(ish) B. October 15th(ish) C. October 31st(ish) D. Gold in october, stores early september(ish) E. Arbitrary deadline meant to appease the hordes of clammoring GC2 fans? Oh and is there still no plan to release DA in brick and mortor stores?
Ok, so i broke down and preordered be4 it's too late. So now what happens? I assume my card gets charged when the game is released? Will DA have open Beta's prior to release like GC2 did? How would i access those? via SDC? How does SDC know i preordered if my store login and SDC login aren't the same? I ordered a CD with my preorder, i assume it will ship out once everything gets released? Is DA still on track for an OctoberISH release?
>bump for cari to look at<
Well i guessed as much too, but my main issue is, do i set it to "1" for true, as in yes use multiple threads; or should (in my case) i set it to "2" for use both CPU cores? Any ideas?
Does that enable spreading the game load on multi CPU cores? If so, what should it be set to? "1" for true or to the number of CPU cores?
So you mean there will be a newer version than 1.30.41? that's the only one i see on SDC right now. OH wait, you mean it won't be on SDC until 2am est? N/M.... Any word on the PQ bonus not being applied to the homeworld bug? THANX FOR THE LATENIGHT UPDATE!
a further note to the PQ bug, it seems to only effect the homeworld....
let me add an addendum here guys, the bonus appearently IS applied correctly for newly colonized worlds. IT IS NOT, however, applied to your homeworld. DEVS: it would seem the homeworld's tile availibility is being set before the game reads the PQ bonus???
I'm just confirming the PQ bug is back, PQ bonus and tile availabilty don't match.
