Because of a ''corrupted'' save game ( huge map, starting to crash around 280-300 turns ), I had to complete it ''in extremis'' by loading a previous auto save for a political victory instead of the ''manu military'' I wanted...... Have a high end machine + all latest drivers & updates, so I really hope 1.2 brings a solution as to fix the ''turn crash syndrome'' ( thereafter a black screen leading to desktop ) - that some ( many?...) of us are experiencing when playing mid-late games on huge map

Thanks Brad for dropping by. Btw, what about all 1.1 BETA scores? Since the new scoring system began with 1.1 BETA 3 if I remember correctly, how the few 1.1 BETA 1 & 2 will be recalculated? Keep up the great work!
After reading Brad's ambitious shedule for May, I wonder if they still have a MV recalc in their agenda? Any input from a Stardock person would be appreciated.
Probably. Even if sometimes we can continue games from earlier versions, generally it is advisable to start fresh new games when updating.
We have an additional difficulty level in the game, not listed in the manual, which is Gifted ( between Intelligent and Genius ). I didn't find any info and pardon me if it's already stated, but what is the Gifted AI' economy bonuses?
Great patch so far making tha overall experience even more challenging yet not frustrating around the Intelligent level BUT I'm concerned about the population growth which still need some serious tweaking. Please Brad and the team, consider working on it again, for the Torians are now ridiculously overpowered with their starting +30 growth. As
Congrats and keep up the good work I only have one little concern regarding the ( influence ) modules tweaks: if you intend to bring a better gameplay balance and path variety among the AIs, since I find them pretty much emphasize the influence path ( particularly with 1.0X ). When trying to reach any kind of victory , the human player mu
Great game thus far, as I learn and love all the new features. But what about the destabilization tab which I never see ( I only have espionage. Late tech required? ) Also, in the diplo screen we can only trade lump sums without tributes per turn ( which in my opinion is rendering Trade Goods useless.....to trade ) ???
First, I'll make several custom games to tackle the learning curve and most of the game's mechanics. Then I'll make the campaign at least once before being comfortable enough at playing the scenarios eligible to the Metaverse - for the latter, starting this spring or summer. If GalCiv II offers the long term replayability we all expect, it will be a lengthy affair. I hate sleepness nights.
Congratulations and have a nice break! Already preordered my copy weeks ago and I guess only 2 weeks of CIVIN' time remains........... I hope to see some other game examples soon....
My first post in these forums..... I'm an experienced TBS player but considering I didn't play the original GalCiv for quite a long time after its 2003 release, what do you advise as the best approach to tackle the learning curve of this upcoming beast we're all awaiting for ( at least for those who didn't had the time to contribute for the beta like me ) ??? == 1) a small custom galaxy map? 2) the main SP campaign right off the bat? 3 ) is there a tutorial? Great job Star
SC 2 was quite better than 3, curiously sharing the same fate than the MoO series....forget the third. Don't get me wrong, SC 3 wasn't intended to be revolutionary by the time of its release - so we cannot compare that much with MoO3 which has some almost revolutionary mechanics, a galactic economic sim years ahead from now, but coded like a 1997 spreadsheet - just badly implemented for today's gaming community. More to the topic, GalCiv: my favorite TBS after SMAC and the Civ series. :
just a suggestion for the metaverse submission ( the submit screen just after the AAR at the end of a game ): after clicking the submit button, we should be informed if the score is correctly registered OR failed because of a cheat or corruption.
me too, I can't load anymore my 1.03A.057 game - crash and return to desktop when reaches 100%. :sniff!: I try with both the save and the 2 auto-saves , and suddenly after days of successful loading of the said game, it is lost or corrupted but how? Previous games still load, so it must be .057 version related???
Please Brad, we need some input about this, at least let us know WHY we can't register some games recently and what to do aside not cheating. :notsure:
errr..., can you tell me then what to do in order to avoid a game file to be corrupted or is it something out of hand and occasionally random?????
AStoot, I have a similar problem for not being able to submit recently and I see no other problem in my case than using some library mods like smuggling tech. I nevet got an straight answer about this, though it seems that "sealed & approved" by Stardock is required in order to use light mods for submission - and only one is approved right now. It may be that if you used recently a library mod. If not, then it may be your serial number.
Please, Brad or anyone who knows for sure about the light mods in the library, because the Metaverse just don't accept my last game ( a long one and my best so far ) which was the first to use an additional mod, and the only one: the smuggling tech - made ( and approved? ) by you. I've tried several times yesterday and it doesn't show, and I never tweaked my account. I never cheat. Aside the smuggling tech downloaded from the library, I can't think of any other reason why I can't submit that one
