Add a stat that modifies the accuracy of a weapon component independently of accuracy of the ship or it's weapon-type scope modifiers. With this we could add another layer to the dynamics of weapon components. Costlier higher accuracy components, weapons that trade reduced accuracy for reduced mass, Add a stat that does the same for ROF, and we'll have two more layers to play with.

I think everyone posting here may have missed your root problem. You should generally avoid upgrading until all of your available tiles are filled. Auto-upgrade is enabled by default. You have to (tediously) click the govern button on your colony screen to enter the window where it can be clicked and disabled. This has to be done for each colony separately. There is no known way to globally disable it. Try this and fill out your planet more befor
