Thanks :) Sincerely Kelly

Hello, While I'm wanting to do an online purchase of the CD for AP, I'm curious if I'll be able to download it as well (via stardock), instead of having to wait? (I have DSL so the download time doesn't bother me.) Thanks Sincerely Kelly

UnderLord, I followed that link and checked out the debate. I don't think there is any way to 'win' against that guy, he's got his head stuffed up his a$$. I've played both games and while they are of the same genre, thats about far as it goes. Kelly
I need to know I anyone has a suggestion about the new game I bought Recently. My screens going blanck and I hear its good.Any suggestions?
I've had this happen when it's the AI's turn. It happens alot but then the screen goes back to normal once they complete their turn. I haven't had a case where I needed to reboot the machine. Kelly
Jeffrey, I don't know how to link to the threads but there's two threads in the past (do a search on sdmcp.exe)and you'll see them pop up. I had this same problem but after reading the threads I got it fixed, just don't remember what I did. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Sincerely Kelly
The last answer is really cr*p.
No actually it's not. It sounds to me like you're just upset and wanting to vent. I play on gigantic maps with the AI set to normal, while at first all I did was get my butt handed to me by the AI time and time again until I got a solid feel on how to run the economy while maintaining good relations with most of the other races. Establishing trade routes with the AI brings down the chances are they'll attack you (to do so would seriously
Interesting thread.. I'm not much for the politics aspect because we all have different views on this and nothing will ever change that. I do know that this planet has sustained some damage that we humans cannot ever really comprehend. There were massive astroid/comet/meteorite(sp?) strikes that laid waste to entire regions (and allegedly) the entire planet. Tack on an ice age or two and yet life still persists to this day. I think mother Earth is going to be okay, many ecos
You said you had alot of ships in their sectors, that was the problem. Think realisticlly about how that would provoke someone, It's like a country putting it's soldiers into another country without permission or war.
I wish there was a diplomatic screen for this little problem. That way you could warn and be warned about warships being in the wrong sectors....
Or bribed them to engage in war against each other. This helps keep them busy and does serious damage to their economy and military ratings. Or go the other route and do alot of trade business with them so that attacking you is like attacking their own economy. Hope this helps Kelly
Unless you plan on spacing the poor souls... ;p Kelly
Now a fight that lasts more than one turn might prevent alpha strikes. I don't know how gameplay would be affected but it could be worth playtesting.
Now that would be interesting. I like the idea of there being some counter operations available to the AI to some of the more used attack methods. Though, care would be needed to insure that micromanagement doesn't overwhelm the players. Kelly [Message Edited]
Well not useless if you're an arms supplier ;p Kelly
How did you fix the UP issue? Not sure I understand that but would LOVE to know Kelly
Hopefully they'll get around to it updating soon. Only 2 votes in the United Planets is pretty sad and gets old FAST. Kelly
Thanks much for the answers :D Kelly
Wasn't there supposed to be a small update? I remember Cari mentioning it right before Turkey day... Thanks Kelly
Thanks much, that did the trick :CONGRAT: Kelly
Howdy, I got the same problem except this thing is eating up my resources. I followed the link and tried the suggestion (regedit) but what he was describing (location) I couldn't find in my version of windoze(ME). Anyone else got any other ideas? Thanks in advance Kelly
Hammer, I ran into the same thing then checked my stardock settings (registration) and it showed the serial number blank. I put that in and that did the trick. Hope that helps some. BTW I'm on DSL and yeah it's a major pain to get in here these days. Lots of waiting. I'm still tinkering away with the update but I do like it. Thanks Stardock.. Kelly [Message Edited]

I'll buy it direct as well. Kelly
As I've stated before I'd be happy to shell out the $20.00 for a 'add-on module'. Not sure where or why people keep coming up with 1 year's free stuff from, I've been lurking around these parts for afew months now and the only thing that comes to mind is Drengin.net where 'free things' stuff is mentioned. Anyhow I would love to see that map editor though I'd like a even bigger galaxy option :D . I seem to run into races pretty quick even on the gigantic level (I only play this size) a
#26 by Avatar Frogboy - 9/4/2003 3:07:03 PM GalCiv has been a big success at retail (as well as direct). Getting PAID for those sales, on the other hand, may prove to be more challenging. Not if you hire a guy named Vinny... Kelly
I wouldn't mind seeing a far different alien race, right now you can combat the AI by a pretty standard method. I'd like to see a race that requires a completely different approach to deal with. I was thinking to something similar to the bad aliens in Starship troopers. They have no tech per say. They spread via astroids. They can't be diplomaticly whiplashed, they can't be techwhored into economic obvilion, and they can't be intimidated. Give them the ability to land on occuppied worlds (
