The one about trade really burns me up to no end too. I thought it (the game was fine where it was) didn't need any changing. What I thought was a shocker that late game minors that "appear" have all the techs. Other than that. I didn't care if the AI traded or no. I didn't trade it my weapons techs thats for sure. When I did mak

I generally find C to be too ineffecient for my needs. But I usually only code micro controllers. Of course C++ is far less efficient than C, and C# is even less efficient. Assembly is obviously the most efficient, but I like FORTH as well - being a high level language.
I think that the Yor picture is done on purpose. It is kind of a cool effect. As for the sound, I don't know... I never play with sound cause I might wake the kids.
Races that were previously defeated still show up with all of their influence in the united planets screen.
Only rarely should ever consider farming. Think about how to maximize the money you get from a world - you can raise the population with farming, or the multiplier with money-improvements. If you want to raise the population, you will probably need 3 tiles, since you will need 2 popularity improvements to offset the population. I
I bought GC1 because if a good review on Firingsquad. I think I found out that GC2 was in development through Stardock Central, and followed it until I could afford to pre-order it (When I got my taxes back.) Anyway, it is a great game, although it has taken away some of my time with my kids. (Although I am better now about just playing it after they go to bed <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle"
Great ship, Nice job!
I have found that if you can make their military rating go below yours, then they will be willing to make peace. The better that you military rating is compared to them, the more they are willing to give you to end the war. It also helps if they are in a war with other races, and you manage to make their rating lower than those other races. They generally sue for peace then.
This is a minor bug, but I figured I would report it nonetheless. When you click on the minimap righ above the "turn" button, it will actually click the turn button. This only bothers you really on Gigantic maps, since you may have a planet or star base very close to the turn button on the mini-map. You would have to click away from the starbase/planet, and then scroll to it. (Especially annoying for starbases, since you have to manually
I'm sure they will come up with some 'creative' solutions... aka... dimentions. You could research "Dimentional Gateway" to access the other side, where evil Altarians are slaughtering the haplessly nice Drengins because their blood makes for a nice wine. The Dreadlords and Thalans came from a differe
P.S. the one thing I think I would like to see changed is when you upgrade a ship design all your shipyards start making that. If you upgrade the ship design and give it a different name, then all you have to do is obsolete the old design and all shipyards producing the old design will switch to the new. Just make sure

I'm sorry that I sounded angry in my first post. I just was upset that a part of the game that was enjoyable before the patch, is now frustrating to the point where I avoid doing it unless I absolutely have to. As for the second post... I just wish I could talk to that person face to face to discuss this. I hate this impersonal internet stuff... And I was angry that he/she insinuated that I didn't know what i was talking about...
Your statements are rather contradictory They are in no way contradictory. As said in The Princess Bride, "You keep using that word, I am not sure if you know what it means." Being able to trade 2000BC for 3000BC is wrong, but I was never able to do this. I found that you could trade 100BC for 200BC, but

I like the new changes to V1.1. It crashes pretty often, but most of the new features are really nice. I have one complaint though. Trading has gone from being enjoyable in the previous version to being frustrating now. This is because the other races will only trade with you if you offer 2 to 3 times what they have is worth. Even when you have a diplomatic advantage. It is almost as bad as Civilization is now. The ease of trading wa
I haven't tested it, but I think you can pretty much ignore the Maximum number of modules. It's linked to the hull size of the starbase core ship (not seen ingame). I think at one point modules were going to take up space on starbases. Actually the maximum number is purely the number of modules you ca

Go to the ATI website and download the new video driver. Install that and see if that fixes the problem. (I had a similar problem and my driver was about as old as yours, and that fixed it for me.)
Something even more annoying (IMHO), is the full turn of movement that you lose by using Autopilot. Frankly I can't understand why no-one else has posted about it. What I am talking about is this: when you put a ship on autopilot, it will immediately move, and then the next turn it will not move at all, and then it will proceed a
I just updated my Voodoo 5 to an ATI. That was one of the worst purchases I have made, if only because it was very expensive, and the company went out a business a year later causing me to lose customer support. NVIDIA bought them out, so maybe you can get a driver update from them?
When I go to update the driver it tells me that i have the best driver for this card. Any suggestions? Go to the ATI website and look up the driver there. They have one from January of this year at least, since that is the version I am using. They probably have a newer one than that too.
Espionage slider: The espionage slider ought to be on the same tab as the report tab, so I don't have to keep switching back and forth to see whether or not I have advanced intelligence on them yet. I completely agree with this!
I think the numerous crashes are what allow me to go to bed also. There are way too many crashes for this to be hardware oriented. Having a new monster machine, and been in gaming for ..............EVER, and by looking at the post, there is a problem here. But the trade off is we get to go to bed. Th
The enemy will usually make peace when his military rating is lower than yours. When that happens, just go to the diplomacy screen and ask for peace.
