WG knows how take a critique so if its just a matter of a stretch setting and adjusting margins I'm sure he knows how to fix it.Sometimes its tough to anticipate all the different ways someone may configure your work.(thats why WB's have substyles haha) Doc forgive me for busting your chops but I dont believe Natas was knocking your screen...just pointing out a fixable flaw in the work...something I wish more people did around here.(vs. the 'its wonderful' blinders so m
DrJBHL...those docks have a serious "cut" line in them. Looks bad.
Doc,Natas has a sharp eye...somewhat limited social skills but he's right...there is a distinct line of cut...some clever photoshop would fix it. Something you will find out now...blend modes do NOT work outside of PS unless they are already merged into the image...as with something from the background to blend with. A button that has to sit on top of another element like the taskbar will either have to have some of the taskbar already under the blended pixels ...or...fake it using colors and trans settings that simulate the blend how it looked in PS. What that means is...what looks fabuloso in PS when it has a backing

Thats an improvement...see how different blend modes enhance the grain rather than hazing it over. And being able to see the top stroke adds definition. Use screen when you need a stronger glare. I knew you didnt want that shiny but it was the easy way to show 2 bevels...1 large overlay hilite to put a smaller screen blend glare on. What I didnt show in the picture was the radial gradient just to keep the broad surface areas from being too flat and even...that add

Overlay can seem weak on wood but if you combine it with a screen blend that is the right shape you can get some neat results. I should have been clearer...as a rule I dont usually use screen...at least not as a default...especially on buttons. See this link for a quick example of what I mean. Its 2 types of hilites combined and some other lighting tricks to bring extra intrest and life to an image. Please dont think I did this to make it appear you are d

Those seldom seen parts of the OS always pop up to bite you...sometimes I'll be nearly done with something and stumble across ONE LITTLE thing that makes me rework whole sections...drives me nuts. [e digicons]:(O[/e]

I'm late to the party but I'm gonna do a "the good, the bad and the ugly" routine anyhows. [e digicons]:banhammer:[/e] The good...Its artistic and bold...something I applaud regardless of usability. The bullets for buttons is great. The bad...The fonts take this somewhere between wow, thats so cool and dang this would be great if it were not for the fonts. Advice...offer a sub with MS fonts.(except for the titlebar and Start menu). At least tell them they can use WBconfig to for

Sometimes you have to shutdown WB and then go into Windows theme manager and re-enable Aero with trans...sometimes it gets turned off. I cant even find the dang thing but you might use personalization >>> window color and appearance to turn it back on. Then re-apply windowblinds.
