Take note: NOT Master of Orion 3 (this one sux), but Master of Orion 2 I am talking :)

This is a very nice idea, but this would require some serious new programming effort. The game has more pressing irregilarities and nonsense issues which could be fixed by simply changing some values in the existing code without the need for extensive new programming. See my (I warn you, ANGRY and frustrated) post entitled "Expansion will fix..."
Man, you misunderstood. Look what happens with F-16s, for example. The platform is almost 30 years old but the planes are kept in service by constantly upgrading avionics, weapons, etc. I am talking about this: If I have a battle cruiser with 25 hitpoints I should be able to send it to a planet with ship construction facilities and replace its current armor with a better one once it has been researched to give it 30 hitpoints instead of 25. The same would apply to replacing obsolete wea
==>> That's because Soldiers are armorless, and shieldless. I'm sure if the soldiers aboard that dread tried to take everyone of those starships by hand to hand ship to ship combat with only a few soldiers going at a time, beaming right into a pack of aliens they'd be chopped to pieces also. That's the whole point. Ships don't fight one at a time, it is not like Corvette one goes vs a Dreadnoughght while Corvettes 2 through 50 are sitting there and watching what happens. This does not m
No, I don't know. It is a dream I had last night... and those things I sugested are not about realism. They are about common sense, especially considering that the game manuals, including the HTML Survival Guide and the PDF manual do not provide enough information to know what to research or build. In view of this, lack of common sense makes the game basically too frustrating to play...
Friend, you say: "Do you want a realistic, very detailed simluation? Or a game that is easy to understand?" If you say this game is easy to understand you must have an IQ of Einstein or better. Don't get this wrong, I am not trying to gloat here, but I, with my 144 IQ, find this game incomprehensible in many aspects. In my post above, I am not talking about rewriting the game. I am suggesting some easy-to-implement tweaks. What’s wrong with being able to abort
Please excuse the tone of the message that follows. I was a bit frustrated with GalCiv having tried to play it at Beginner level for 3 weeks now (I am a registered user of a retail copy). I mean no offense, but some of the things in GalCiv simply defy all logic and common sense. I hope that some of the points I make below (again, please ignire the emotional charge) will bake it into the future updates to this promising game. Original post: I think I am not the only one who hope
And, by the way, they don't need to rewrite game code to make most of the changes I suggest. All they need to do is change some values in the existing code... Also, despite of what some posters said, GalCiv is a simulation, a lowsy one at that at this moment...
Yes, that's what I meant
I think I am not the only one who hopes that the Expansion Pack will fix the following inexplicable nonsensical elements of GalCiv. Of course, there is MORE but even if this limited list of nonsensical things were fixed in the X-pack the Galactic Civilizations would become the supreme game and a standard setter for years to come. Moreover, it would become actually playable and enjoyable! I. Ships and invasions: 1. Transports the size of planets? One BILLION troops per tran
