So far I have played only one game where the minor got powerful and there were the Fundamentalist that appear very late in the game and took over almost all the Drenging planets, I inmediately sold them some of my wonders and they became neutral towards me for the rest of the game, no problem with them, they started a war againt the Altarians and I gave them some ships and they went from neutral to friendly and they remained that way until the end of the game when they finished all the other rac

You don't need to fear of trading with the minor civilizations, with the major just pay close attention to what they are offering sometimes you get some good deals. ;)

I have raised the level of difficulty to tough and sometimes painful, I have noticed that if you start to trade with the minors early in the game, you will never have trouble with them, everytime that they appear in the map go and trade with them and you will never have difficulties with them.

Try to always have the minor races on your side, if they ask you for trading techs, do it, they are not the ones you have to worry about, they are your cash cows, so be smart and always try to have them on your side, as soon as they appear trade with them and they will be your friends.
