Jeffery... thats exactly what was happening to me. I submitted my game and the prompt came up telling me it went through but my score didn't change in the Metaverse. T-Man helped me out and it seems that firewalls and adblockers will keep scores from going through some of the time. To be safe, you should disable any adblockers you have running and configure any firewall you may have to allow galciv to go through (or just disable the firewall when you try to submit). It'll probably go through

how much stuff have you leased... try only to lease a bare minimum of things... leasing will put you into debt quickly... and raise your taxes... it'll keep you from being too far in debt for a little while... hmm, i'm not sure what you mean about leasing reaching 15 but the easiest way to stay away from leasing is to not purchase things and just let your people build them naturally. ~SDC~

i'd say... ALWAYS start with communication theory and then universal translator otherwise you can't speak with the other races... ALWAYS build a couple of colony ships at the start of the game... and for social i usually start with Soil Enhancement... after that its really up to you and the type of civilization you want to play. ~SDC~ [Message Edited]

I haven't played this game that much but I'd figure the hardest possible setup would be Tiny map, all AIs the opposite Alignment of you, all AIs set to Genius Intelligence (or whatever the highest one is). Figure that would mean that the AIs will all hate you, they'll all have a massive advantage over you, it'd be harder scrambling for planets and resources, and you'd have less time to prepare yorself before they find you. But i've never set it up like that.... ~SDC~

Allies ask you to go to war with them and join you when you go to war... also, i think that the whole 'can't ally unless Close relationship' thing is BS. You'd figure that maybe an alliance could form from a Friendly relationship plus some money or techs... I think they should make it on a scale as to how easy it is to ally with someone. example: Close relationship (both Good) 1:1 odds Close (One Good, One chaotic Good) 3:5 odds Friendly relationship (Both Good) 1:3 odds Friendl
but the commander blood ones looked terrible as I recall
Did you ever see Captain Blood? it was the first in that series.... the aliens look god-awful in that one... by comparison the aliens in Commander Blood were 10fold better... ~SDC~

not to steal your thread... but, I submitted an Anomaly to the library... hopefully it'll soon come into existence on the site so that all may marvel at the 5 minutes i put into it.... wait a second... that didn't sound as epic as I thought it would... hmm, maybe i should work on that... ::epic voice:: AND ALL SHALL MARVEL AT MY NEWLY CREATED ANOMALY.... no, that didn't work either... oh, forget it.... ;p ~SDC~

Hmm... it would be interesting to have an actual printout of the Tech tree so i know what does what exactly. It would get rid of the feeling of the unknown but , then again, after playing the game a handful of times you tend to learn the basic layout of things like this so a Tech tree would just give order to the jumbled madness that floats inside your head while watching the starships sail by.............. ::Wakes up:: :notsure: was i saying something? ~SDC~

I see this game as Friendly Competition... like back in the day when you used to play Super Mario Bros. and see who could go the longest without dying or who would have the highest score at the end but you didn't get all pissy when someone did better than you cause it was all fun no matter what. GalCiv and the Metaverse should be a reflection not of "who-is-better-than-whom" but instead should reflect people finding new/better routes to victory, beating your best score, and knowing who had a re

I've seen the same thing time and time again in games i've played... normally i see two defensive modules and one or two mining/production on AI starbases. I don't mind that much that they don't use them effectively, but if they did I would get sweet starbases in the deals I make... I really like starbases LOL ~SDC~

I have never seen monsters in any game i've played and i only got pirates once but it was only like one or two ships and they were taken out by one of my starbases ;p ~SDC~

well... if the confirmation e-mail every comes i'll post them in there... one of the three is having a lot of problems technically and personally so i'll put my other two events in... also, i had submitted an Anomaly to the GalCiv.com Library; i'll post it in that forum also as soon as I get the chance. ~SDC~

I've been playing small and tiny maps, since i've only had this game for a week, and on those maps i usually only get 3 or 4 star systems during the colonization phase. If i'm lucky i can colonize more than one planet in each system... but since i usually go for cultural victory I wind up with everyone elses planets anyway as the game goes on. ~SDC~

I tried putting together some events and came out with three of them that i think are decent... the pictures might need some resizing and the wording might need fixing (this is my first try at this sort of thing). If anyone would be interested in checking them out and trying them out for me so i know what to fix, I'd greatly appreciate it. I don't have anywhere to host them currently and i don't want to sumbit them yet cause they might need working on. If you'd like to see them I guess you can

I had Commander Blood... and yes, the aliens looked kinda like muppets half the time and didn't look well done any of the time. ~SDC~

Thanks for the link... it worked perfectly. I had downloaded another program to convert jpeg to pcx but every time i opened the converted picture it came out looking like rainbow colored lines smeared across a canvas... the Radtools thing worked great. Thanks for the help... hopefully you'll see some events from me sometime soon. ~SDC~

You could make a possible 'pre-warp' scenario that jumps from race to race and then near the end jumps forward to address the mystery of the Altarians. You could start off with one of the other races (Drengin, Yor, Arcean) and address the situation of the galaxy with stargates and no human interaction yet and a possible mystery about the precursors, followed up with the introduction of the 'hyper-drive' and then it would jump ahead to a Human/Atlerian collaboration into figuring out the similar

I tend to start off by raising Taxes to about 50% and shisting around spending so that i got about 40% on Military so i can pump out colony ships and constructors faster. I tend to do as much trading and dimplomacy as possible in order to keep the money flowing and even with the approval rating dropping i tend to keep the Senate throughout the entire game. Normally i come really close to losing the senate a handfull of times but even when i do lose it I gain it back next time. All the money i
