Boy you touched on a topic. This game is too easy to play. The single player on max difficulty offers no challenge PERIOD. I've played all the great 4X games and am not very good compared to many and yet this game is a f...ing P_ssy. I don't usually swear but honestly this game commits the cardinal sin of 4X games and offers no challenge. I think it's the first in history. Oh, wait for the next patch, blah, blah, blah....

How do you research Shields and Non-Beam Weapons ? in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

I am fighting the Drengin in the mission for Ixith (2nd or 3rd mission) and they have strong ships and beam weapons. I don't see any type of weapon for me to research except beam weapons. I was told you could research other weapons but I don't see that. Also I don't see where I can research shield? Thank you. -Nathan

Yes, I researched miniturization. I'm grouping my ships on top of one another but I'm not sure that means that they are being bound together or not. I am designing my own ships. I can't find the techology "shiels" anywhere. Also it seems that there is only the path of beam for weapon tech to research. Is that right? -Nathan

Help?! Grengin ships are eating me alive! in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

I'm on the second or third mission (where you're supposed to capture the planet, Ixith). Well, I was doing ok at first but the Grengin (sp?) ships have Way more firepower and hitpoints than mine. They have a beam weapon with an attack of about 20 and many more hitpoints. I've tried focusing research on beam weapons and even got up to battleships and I've upgraded them but my ships don't seem that much better and I'm getting blown away. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate i
