Anyone know where to get and ALPS 1300 Printer driver for Vista? I love that printer... so much for legacy hardware (kind of like 35mm). I hope there will be XP support for some time. Animated wallpaper as a concept is nothing new. Being able to do it without bringing your system to a crawl or interfering with how you work is. Excellent point Frogboy DreamRender often rendered a blue screen or two!

Well, nothing good to say... I cannot use microsoft's own site to update my Windows. Also, it replaced my 32-bi IE. When I uninstalled IE7 I had to download IE6 again to run the 32-bit version. Overall? ... back to Opera for me and my organization.
Now it is working just fine and goes to my hompage when launched,
I use BitDefender 8 the free version. AVG just didn't catch everything. I had AVG on my PC then the trial ran out (I have Windows XP 64-bit and the AVG free version does not work), so I tried BitDefender and it found viruses stashed in my restore points. Had to uninstall and reinstall but it is working now... the first tab always tries to connect to something even though I made my homepage Metacrawler. Now it pops up as a seconcd tab but the first comes up everytime and tells me I am not connected to the internet. I seem to be getting around the internet just fine even though MS thinks I am not connected. I'll play around some more... and try to keep my Opera bias at bay.
Well, IE7 is busy right now "connecting", to what, I don't know... Well, Not Responding. Hhhmmm, I have the right version of Windows 64-bit... it looks nice... I skinned Ok... Hhhmmm. I'll get back when I discover what is going on...

This is ironic; I am buliding system for my niece who goes off to college next fall and I have been deliberating what to include as an OS because I don't want some frat-boy putting her down because she doesn't have vista! I have a feeling if I put vista on there she will end up with an OS full of bugs where Winows XP 64-bit would suffice and allow her the creativity of working with many third party apps. I know this is article is about the new OS but, I have been working with the MS Office 2007 beta and I cannot customize it at all. It will not skin. My hope is this is not a forced evolution to a fully uncustomizable (is this a word) OS and Office systems. I rely a lot on third party builds and use Windows XP 64-bit since is does not contain many of the heavy gimmicks that I had to undo with Windows XP to make it an efficient OS for me

I do not know why you even bother with "vista". It is meant to obtain capital not to provide a true experience in computing. Go out and purchase a Windows XP 64-bit version and have some real fun!! "vista" is nothing more than a bell and whistle version for the mediocre user. Remenber the "Me" version ... ???? DO NOT BUY IT!!!
Do not even bother. "vista" is a simple solution to capital gain. Get a legitimate version of Windows XP 64-bit and have some fun!!
