Good post. I would go so far as to say that "Ism" is the cause of all human suffering. I hope this makes it to the front page so others can read it.

Good post Draginol. Nice point Jamie. If gobal warming pans out like many scientist predict it will, that will definetly be a major factor for being a super power. Does anyone think that the type of culture could be a significant factor? It seems to me that a country could meet all of Draginol's requirements but still fail to be a super power solely because of it's culture.

OK, no more using the quote feature for me. JeremyG said, "Because it's impossible to have one without the other. It's like saying "Everything is big". Well that's impossible, because without something small, big means nothing." This reasoning can only apply to our current state of consciousness.

OK, going to try this again...(still don't see and edit button anywhere although I was told in another post there is one) Because it's impossible to have one without the other. It's like saying "Everything is big". Well that's impossible, because without something small, big means nothing. This reasoning can only apply to our current state of consciousness.

He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this pri

Now, imagine how incredulous you would be if I said "Ah, but did Eru not bequeath the power of light to the Valar and did not Morgoth, by his deeds, help destroy the two trees and mar Arda forever?" Haha, that sounds like a very fun and appropriate way to respond.

When I die if it turns out that there really is a God, a Heaven, a Hell, (and all of these are as Christians describe them); then I will be happy to go to Hell.

Various states have made significant increases to the minimum wage. When the increases are proposed the resulting scenario is always the same. Opponents argue that it will reduce the number of jobs, prices will go up, the sky will fall etc. I have done a fair bit of research on this subject and I have never come across any study or data that has shown harm to the economy after a significant minimum wage increase.

I have never understood why marijuana is so popular. Either there are a lot of people who like being in a stupor or it just doesn't have the same affect on me as it does on most people.
