It was worth a shot, I know what I mentioned fixed the problem for me. Sorry it didn't work out better for you.

GW, I sent you an email that may help you.
I had the same thing happen. I was able to fix it and enter my score to the metaverse. I re-entered my OLD DA serial number by using Stardock Central. (you can't enter the old serial number through DA because the old number is too small.) I then started the game normally. I reloaded my saved game. When I went post to the Metaverse I was sucessful. Short answer, the Metaverse is looking for the serial number used when you started the game. Once I posted
I've read some great ideas, mostly are probably more than an update. I think I got a true update fix for PQ1&2 planets. On the main map these are identical to PQ0. I'd say make PQ1&2 look like PQ3&4 or maybe put a dot in the middle of the circle, make the PQ1&2 planets look different than PQ0. Thanks.
I never thought of doing that w/ a tiny hull ship. Got to add that to my ship inventory ASAP. Thanks, Marshall.
Dystopic is correct. Influence does not show how much your citizens likes their own culture; Influence is your affect on other races. In addition to what is mentioned above, here is a bit more about cultural influence (I think this is all correct or pretty darn near close): The boarders that you see on the main and mini maps are based on the strongest influence of a major race, yours or an AI race. Minor races have no influence to speak of, no influence board
Whitecloak, ...isn't there a checkpoint system where you simply click on the final destination where you'd like your ship to end up and it automatically moves toward it every turn? Horatio is correct, when the ship is lauched or at the start of the turn, move the mouse to the desired sector and right click, that will engage the auto pilot. If you chose a destination and still have moves leftover you can then right click again for a new destina
I know you can launch a colony ship w/ as little as 1 million people. AFAIK you should be able to colonize w/ that too. I've never tried that few but I have seen AI ships colonize a planet with as little as 20m on their ships, I can't recall them using less than that though.
Since no one else has asked... I'd love to listen live to pick up all these glorious gems, but will there be an audio file posted afterwards, on Stardock or maybe a podcast on iTunes? I gotta work and won't be able to listen live
Starbases are still by type: mining, military, economic and influence and not by race. I like the new detail - I think it's more realistic - not that I've seen many "real" starbases, but I still think its better. The ships are really cool too. There's this one new tiny style for the humans and it looks just like a ... opps, better not ruin the surprise, but its really cool looking, I think. As I recall many more of the parts from the starbases are also included for use as
Thanks FC, I got confused, but thats not hard to do.
FC, it sounds like you got it straightened out. Was it an easy fix? It would be cool if you could share w/ the rest of the class. I am having the same problem. Submitted fine last night.
There are 2 factors to the "blitz cheese" approach. First is the speed, which I would really miss on Gigantic maps. Both sides have valid points. I tend to lean toward no speed limit, the greater speeds help play-ability of the larger maps. If you lived in such a galaxy I don't think it unreasonable that a race might figure out how to go that fast. The second part of this cheese is the attack. Right now, that 50+ speed ship could, in theory, could attack an enemy 50+ times. Anoth
This was mentioned by Cari in another post like this. The bonuses are less common. In that post, forget where, someone else mentioned the bonuses seemed more likely on the specialized planets. It seemed that way to me. Maybe they will be turned back up later.
Arilias, I get what your saying and you are correct, 24% moral is not good. All I am suggesting is raising your taxes to say 60-65% keeping your moral around 45%, or in the yellow (I will not play w/ moral in the red). This will increase your income, but may not stop deficit spending. It doesn't need to at this point in the game. In fact, if you are comfortable with a 35bc per turn loss, then increase the spending slider too. The more money you are pumping into your economy the faste
I am enjoying this story too... as far as your economy... here's my 2 cents.... you mention your approval ratings in the low 60's right now. why??? for me i have found this is too high early in the game. at the start of the game, i keep my approval in the mid 40's and tax as much as possible. you don't have elections, there is no enemy threat or influence, take advantage of that facts. as you research the government techs, you do have to switch back to a
Axel Kane - I had the same problem too. When I pre ordered w/CD tonite It put 2 copies into my cart. I went into the "store" and was then able to correct the quantity to 1. I also emailed [email protected]. Frogboy made his case for online distribution very well. Stardock figured the cost of the expansion should be $30 USD. Basically retail adds $10 to the cost of the product. So if it went retail then they could only budget work based on $20 for dev time plus $10 for retail costs
This is a really cool feature from GC1 that doesn't seem to work as well in GC2. In GC1 "Lucky" rangers and corvettes were (to me) more common, and definately more useful. The weapons and defenses were impressive and ship speed was tied to research. So when you found one, it moved as well as the rest of your fleet and had to be respected by other races. It also was a "Survey" ship and could be really useful investigating anomolies too. In GC2 they seem not to be not as useful becau
I haven't done it myself, yet, but why not build an armed freighter? I'm not sure that it work, maybe some else knows for sure. Pick a medium hull type for some hit points, throw on a cheap weapon or 2 and some armor. Be the same thing as the Combat Transport except you put on the trade module instead. The mini carries everything the original had. It's not going to stop a fleet, but then neither would one escort. Seems to me that an armed freighter would give the AI something to think about.
