Wish it was that easy, Pontius. My computer was being upgraded by our IT dept over the weekend when corporate decided to reboot the whole system without telling anybody. It has destroyed Windows apparently! I get a fatal error every time I push the on/off button. :( Luckily, I have access to a laptop. Unluckily, it's a sucky laptop. Luckily, I can still chat on GalCiv.com Unluckily, the stupid laptop seems to lose net connection at the drop of a hat. :sni

Hmmm...actually, I think there was no "anti-USSR" propaganda there. How do you explain crew members from every country, including Chekov? Rodenberry was notoriously pro-peace (as evidenced by the many episodes concerning peaceful resolutions to the conflict). His United Star Ship idea was based on the idea that the Earth finally achieved a true worldwide peace. If it bugs you that much, why not just change every ship name? I don't think it's that much of an issue with everyone else. :no

couslee: I noticed in another thread you are having trouble with a logo for your empire. I'd be glad to resize a graphic if you want me to, or I could even find something unique for you. What is the title of the empire you are working on? Better yet, are you a theme empire like the Fellowship or a location empire like Midwestern Confed.?

Hey, all. I'm having computer problems at work, so I'm not going to be around today. I'm working on an "experiment" currently with a Normal game...trying some things I've never tried before. So far, it's working nicely. H50: no worries about the site. I was actually kind of concerned about how we'd get updates worked out, so this probably is the best anyway. Still wonder about that markup, though...

I'm not an authority on this subject, by any means, but I'm going to take a crack at this. First, tech whoring. Some love it, some hate it. But in this game, it's almost a necessity, especially at the "middle" difficulty levels. If you play at crippling or masochistic, I think nobody will take your techs, so that will pretty much take care of that!
