I have to say that since updating this last night, this is the first time since installing Win7 that my live folders have not reverted to the default Windows folder al day long. Before the update I had to rebuild the icons several times a day to keep the live folders correct! I am a happy camper for now![e digicons]
Okay, I changed out the brush on the bird and tried to make it more realistic. I have redone the mask on the ground as well. Tried to fix the pixel problem with the clouds. I tried adding some mtns but they just did not look right. I have a valid question. Working on an LCD screen, when the image is directly in front of me sometimes it appears too light but when veiwing it from a short distance, of say five feet, it appears to be right. Which should I go with?
I am here. Just digesting all of the suggestions. The bird is not an image but a brush that I tried to paint, I could incorporate a real hawk but was trying to learn how to not use so much stock if that makes sense. I'll try to redo him. I will assume that when I moved the mask and revealed it caused the dups on the queens lace. Not clear on what I will do with that. Have alot of ideas but not sure of where I am going! I did not clone anything in the image. I removed all of the grass I did with the scatter brush and replaced with individual grass brushes, each of them different. The foreground plants are masked in from an actual photo and appear as they do in the photo. I guess I don't follow what you are referring to.[e digicons]:meow:[/e]
I've done a bit more refining and tried to change up the grass. I guess the tuts I read on doing grass were all wrong, Can someone suggest a good site for Photoshop tutorials? I know there are scads of them but which do you think is the best or that you would use?
Well, thank you for that. It was headed for the recycle bin but perserverence won out.I did add that tiny bit of reflection under the hawk and thought a shadow would be overkill. Not quite sure how to desaturate part of that layer and not the rest. It's late and I'm tired! I'll leave it go til tomorrow and see if I can change up the grass a bit.[e digicons]
I was trying to keep it stock free if I could. I have done some clouds, now tell me what you all think. Jafo, you are a hard man to please! I will revisit the grass tomorrow. ( and maybe the clouds too!)
Actually, at the moment all I have are rendered clouds as I was spending so much time on it, I wanted to know if it had potential before I did anymore. I was thinking to blur the water line and add more clouds. As I said, right now it is just rendered clouds with a gradiant mask. I learned quite a bit about using masks in some tutorials yesterday while my system was down and I was using the "ancient one" which[e digicons]:meow:[/e] won't run photoshop so

The trees are brushes, but yes I did use the same brush on each side adding more to the left side. I was attempting to create the ground cover with only brushes and texture but I grab from what you are saying that I went too soft with it. I was going for dreamy but I guess the whole image is too soft. Did I interpret correctly?[e digicons]:meow:[/e]
So, anyone: Where did I go wrong with this? The transparency in the brushes?
