Trek should have ended with the original series.
That points towards a path back to Peace. The whole 'franchise' thing is a pox on the arts in general, and especially on film and television artists who have appetites for big production budgets. I've enjoyed a fair number of post-TOS Trek things, especially if you include the animated episodes voiced by the TOS cast. But I'd trade all that for having had a chance
I too thought Zachary Quinto played the role a little too uptight, especially in the begining. the death of spocks mother though seemed to open up a new avenue for him to take the character, and add on Kirks prodding and the love story with uhura, i though by the end we had a new spock that was well into being developed into a great new character.
These 'good parts' of that execrable film are really at the core of my disgust.

Banned because I have no idea what the "other thread" is. And I'm perfectly well qualified to discuss tits even though girls taste funny to me. Can't grow up in this dying empire without being force-fed an extensive education on human mammary glands and their various fashion accessories.

I'll second the love for Earth: Final Conflict (wish we could get the whole thing via Netflix). Space: Above and Beyond is another one that died too soon and is still under-appreciated. Abrams' Trek flick had many good traits, but nothing can make up for its several glaring stupidities done apparently for the sake of visuals. Starships built on the ground, industrial breweries inside starships, a drill that dangles from orbit on an artsy-fartsy chain...ack!

Banned because I didn't mean whoever had luck-o-the-boards and posted #40000, I meant who or whatever deserves credit or ought to be held responsible overall. GeneralEtrius claims to have disavowed this monstrosity, but I'm pretty sure he could have locked it from joeuser if he really wanted to. If the OP is off the list, someone is guilty of having made the most replies, someone else might the 'crucial connector' who's been motivating the ongoing co

Banned for living in the fallen empire that founded that colony. (And, yes, there's some NA colonial bitterness there now that our shiny new empire is on the skids. Y'all had a couple of peak centuries, all we got was a few measly decades...)

Yes, it's a gamer-ghetto thing apparently. But I still partly blame you 'skinners' on account of having read some Vernor Vinge stuff on flensing and having lived many long years as a critic of fashion over function when it comes to software design.

Banned for being a demanding gaseous anomaly. If you want a GalCiv2 AAR plug, the top of the heap is Diary of a Terran Soldier . I could never have written one as good as that because I'm still waiting for the game to open up to some sort of multi-polar/multi-species modeling perspective. The Terran-centric bias was what got me bored quickly with GC1 and underlies most of what I wish were better in GC2. Given Brad's fixation on us
...In the OP it is on the top right. In the replies area, it is next to the karma button. The buttons will show always in the OP, but only on mouseover in replies. Do not adjust your set, this is normal. As for images, you need to upload to a hosting site like ImageShack or Photobucket, copy the Direct Link and insert it into the box that opens when you click Insert/Edit Image.
YMMV. At GC2, there is no
