The game works by simply linking to the flash file on another server. If that server goes down, so does the game. I just redownloaded it and it loaded fine for me. The website it hotlinks too is still up and running so I don't know why it wouldn't work. http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~jslack/duckhunt.php If that link works, then the game SHOULD work, but I will double check it when I get home later tonight. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.gif" border=0

Maggot, the "ThumbsCache" folder is put there by Windows, not DX. It shouldn't make a difference if you delete it or not. The folder I was talking about is in your root DX directory, not in the Themes folder. /Program Files/Stardock/Object Desktop/DesktopX/AlonTheme Thats the path on my PC, just replace "AlonTheme" with your username. That folder contains your current theme that you are using. You can still try deleting this folder, and it might fix the problems you havin

Maggot, that same exact problem happened to me a while ago. I had setup a theme, then all of a sudden, when I reloaded my theme...half of my icons didn't show up and half of my objects didn't show up. I couldn't find a solution within DX to fix the problem and what I did was... Go to the DesktopX folder, look for a folder called "MaggotTheme" or whatever your user name is, that contains the current theme you have, I deleted that folder, and lost my theme...but the problem never happen

IconPackager comes with a tool called IconExplorer. Load it up, find the .icl or .ip you wish to extract, then click on it. IconExplorer will show you all the icons in that file, then just highlight them all, right-click and choose 'Export As...', pick a folder to save em...and voila!

RE: BakerStreet A simple solution would be to make 2 objects, one object will be your button graphic, the other object, a text label. Lay one over the other and group them. A bit cheezy...but it should work none the less. --- DesktopX is the greatest thing since sliced bread! I mean it! The only problem with DX is it's become more a programmers tool than a skinners tool. Mos

I am very close with the game of billiards in all forms. An 8-ball skin would be something I would cherish for days. I would really love to see a pool-related skin...especially one done by you, GH. What more could a pool fan ask for? If you are looking for demand...count me on the list.

If you don't voice your opinion, why bother visiting the board at all Travis? I know I'm not gonna change anything, but I could set of a spark that 6 months down the road it triggers a backthought in an Admins mind and subconsciously he thinks different...you never know. Point is a voice not spoken is a voice not heard or whatever that saying is. I know this touchy subject...but I am all for

After roaming these boards for the last year or so, you learn all the unwritten rules of the skinning world. We all know that ripping another persons work is a very big no-no. But what I don't understand is everytime someone posts a request about a skin for a game or movie, you always have someone saying "you will need permission". So why is there such a fuss about someone wanting a skin based on a branded thing? Yes, TECHNICALLY they are considered rips. But TECHNICALLY, I can go a

Meow, I tried your registry edits...and amazingly enough...it worked! Thanks very much for the tip. It's really been driving me crazy...stupid pink box! Braniac, if you want to use my arrows for anything you will need express written consent and will need to pay a licensing fee. <img src="http://images.

I like the idea, will even things out a bit more. I always thought that the problem was not enough ratings being given out. I see lots of skins rated 7's and 8's with only 2 ratings. Well a 4 and 9 make a 7, but that works both ways. Just like Frogboy said, 1 rating of a 7...then the griefer's 3. But anyways...an improvement none the less. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.g

An excerpt from the January WinCustomize newsletter: In March WinCustomize plans to help sponsor the GUI Olympics 2004. Two years ago the GUI Olympics was an inter-website skinning contest. The subject-matter was WindowBlinds 3. A lot has happened since then and skinning has grown even more popular. You can see the skins (visual styles) from the last GUI Olym
