You can always try it an see. Make a copy of the old .sav game and load it up in the new version. If it works, great. If not, you still have your original game. Most will work, especially if in the same version series, e.g. 1.4.xxx. Transitions between major versions, such as 1.3 to 1.4 may work, especially the latter minor versions of 1.3 to early versions of 1.4.

Don't tell Wheelofire about text messaging. He would never be able to understand it much less read more than one message before he writes a dissertation on errors in that one message. Good morning Diplomats. Submitted a 69K game today under 1.41 the game ended with nary a wimper from the AI. Just all of a suddent the planets all flipped and game over. Seems like a bug to me, but I no longer believe that irrationalities in the game are bugs, but features put there to annoy the player.

AS I recall, there are two lines of research for Starbases. One for weapons and one for defense, just like for ships. After researching each level, you can add a module to the SB for defense or weapons. You really need to do both. In the end game, the maximum defense of a SB is insufficient to keep it alive against the top weapons.

I am not sure why people feel that a new player should have the same advantages as an older player, or should even catch up to the score of an older player. The Metaverse, in my opinion, is about two things. One, a record of your scores as an individual, and therefore each game should reflect the score from the game, i.e., raw score. Two, a team competition where each player contibutes to the overall score of the team. The team score can be arranged in any manor one wants, based on the raw s

In metaverse when u press ctrl n, u after go through the entire customise process, so may as well start new metaverse game, rather than using ctrl n. This is not true in 1.31. When you Ctrl-N you wait a while and get a new map and new positions. You don't have to type in anything else.
