You know what? I rebooted, and everything was fine. The skin was in the list, and everything loaded just fine. Wierd.

Of course it's set to load on startup. I'm running XP. That's the default setting. Like I said, no problems with any other skin. Just this one.

As of late, it seems to me that so very many of the more "3d" looking skins are, well, not well-done. Hippy has some great stuff. That skin of Mercury's above was wonderful (although not my thing)and there are some other great skinners. But many of the more 3d skins are just beveled buttons and stuff. Reminds me of the days when 3d buttons were first catching on on the web...I don't care for the look. Someone mentioned Mormegil's Toon-XP. That's a great example of a graphic heavy 3
I imported the RhodiumX msstyle using SkinStudio. I can load the visual style from the WB control panel w/o a problem, but after I restart or login, it defaults to windows classic. The skin also does not show up on the appearance tab (although it shows up in the wb control panel). I have the full version of WB, latest build (as of 9/10) downloaded via Stardock Central on WinXP Home SP1. I do not have problems with any other skin.

Good question, Brad. I'm trying to alter an existing skin for personal use. The titlebar looks like this (similar to RiscOS): X Icon Title Max Min For some reason, in UIS1+, the close button keeps wanting to pop up the system menu...but only on some windows...like Explorer. I don't have this problem with UIS2 skins. Also, I assume that UIS1+ doesn't support MaxBorderCut? SKS tells me that it's an unknown attribute and will be ignored...and it's right. Again, not a

I'm trying to convert a UIS1+ skin to UIS2, so I can get some advanced button functionality. Is there any easy way to do this, or do I have to recreate the skin?
I would assume so...they've been there forever...like, 3 or 4 years since the original geoshell site of that design (that used to be the layout for geoshell.com...designed by Cosmok (I think), aka andrew@shellfront). I would assume that she (Copland) knows about it...

TrueKaiser, Not hardly. True color isn't a part of BootSkin right now. They're not withholding features. They're adding them, if you want to pay for them. Otherwise, the current version will be free. Besides, if you hack the kernel to get a bootscreen, the best you will get is 16 colors. Once they start charging (and it won't be much, I'm sure), you'll get more capability than MS built in. Folks, Stardock does so much for us for very little money. Please, stop whining.
